The USWNT team will host Brazil for the second game in three days as the teams meet at PayPal Park on Tuesday night.

The United States will welcome Brazil to PayPal Park on Tuesday night for the second international friendly matchup between the two teams in three days as the teams meet at the home of the San Jose Earthquakes. On Saturday, the teams opened the two-game series at SoFi Stadium in the first-ever women’s sporting event to be held at the home of the Los Angeles Chargers which saw a crowd of 32,000 fans. The United States made it out of the game with a 2-0 victory. The United States saw the return of Trinity Rodman after eight months away from the national team after taking time to recover from injury. What was good news for the USWNT, was bad news for Brazil as Rodman scored just five minutes into the match to give her team and early lead after receiving a beautiful ball in from Alyssa Thompson.

The Americans were aggressive from the first whistle and finished the half with seven shots, five of which made it on frame. Despite strong offensive play, the team did not find the net again until the second half when Lindsey Heaps converted a penalty kick in the 66th minute after defender Lily Yohannes was taken down at the top of the box. Despite Brazilian goalkeeper Lorena guessing correctly, a well-paced ball from Heaps into the bottom left corner made it a 2-0 game.

Phallon Tullis-Joyce made her debut in net, marking the 16th player to debut under head coach Emma Hayes, and earned the shutout. Tullis-Joyce made six saves in her first cap for the USWNT and was the 10th goalkeeper in the history of the program to earn a shutout.

Tune in on Tuesday night in what should be another strong showing for the young Americans under a coach who has certainly proved herself at the helm.
