A Woman of Distinction

Reserved college dean Susan Middlecott (Rosalind Russell) is all business and can't be bothered with love. However, when Susan meets charming British astronomy professor Alec Stevenson (Ray Milland), it seems that romance could be in the air. Though she resists being paired with Alec, things don't go as planned -- particularly when a publicity agent and even Susan's amiable father (Edmund Gwenn) get involved. Soon Susan may just be in love, whether she likes it or not.

A note in her pocket lists five men whom her husband died saving in battle, and they are contacted to help Janet's recovery. The first man on the list, jaded reporter Smitty Cobb (Melvyn Douglas), is offended when Janet says she hopes to prove her husband died in vain to save five worthless men, and offers to "introduce" Janet to each of the men through hypnotism.

The Silencers

A sinister group known as the Big O has developed a plot to start a global nuclear conflict, so the carefree, womanizing Helm must stop the scheme of mastermind Tung-Tze (Victor Buono). Joining the suave Helm on his mission is the beautiful but inept operative Gail Hendricks (Stella Stevens), along with other gorgeous ladies.

Harriet Craig (Joan Crawford) enjoys the married life but constantly tries to control those around her. She does not trust her husband, Walter (Wendell Corey), without checking up on him. When he is offered a promotion that will require traveling, Harriet tells his boss that Walter has a gambling problem. She also sabotages a budding relationship between her cousin Clare and Wes Miller, Walter's assistant. However, Walter discovers Harriet's interference, which leads to a confrontation.

Unfortunately, the King and his loyalists aren't appeased by this, and press forward with grave charges of treason, further testing More's resolve.

Mr. Smith Goes to Washington

When the idealistic young Jefferson Smith (James Stewart) winds up appointed to the United States Senate, he gains the mentorship of Senator Joseph Paine (Claude Rains). However, Paine isn't as noble as his reputation would indicate, and he becomes involved in a scheme to discredit Smith, who wants to build a boys' campsite where a more lucrative project could go. Determined to stand up against Paine and his corrupt peers, Smith takes his case to the Senate floor.
