The Guns of Navarone
In 1943, a small commando team is sent to destroy huge German guns on the Greek Island of Navarone in order to rescue Allied troops trapped on Kheros. Led by British Major Franklin (Anthony Quayle), the team includes American Mallory (Gregory Peck), Greek resistance fighter Stavros (Anthony Quinn) and reluctant explosives expert Miller. Facing impossible odds, the men battle stormy seas and daunting cliffs. When Franklin is injured, Mallory takes command, and personal enmities spill over.
On the Waterfront
Dockworker Terry Malloy (Marlon Brando) had been an up-and-coming boxer until powerful local mob boss Johnny Friendly (Lee J. Cobb) persuaded him to throw a fight. When a longshoreman is murdered before he can testify about Friendly's control of the Hoboken waterfront, Terry teams up with the dead man's sister Edie (Eva Marie Saint) and the streetwise priest Father Barry (Karl Malden) to testify himself, against the advice of Friendly's lawyer, Terry's older brother Charley (Rod Steiger).
His Girl Friday
When hard-charging New York newspaper editor Walter Burns discovers that his ex-wife, investigative reporter Hildy Johnson, has gotten engaged to milquetoast insurance agent Bruce Baldwin, he unsuccessfully tries to lure her away from tame domestic life with a story about the impending execution of convicted murderer Earl Williams. But when Hildy discovers Williams may be innocent, her reporter instincts take over.

Advertising executive William Weldon (Franchot Tone) narrowly averts career implosion when his clever wife, Margaret (Lucille Ball), helps him save an important advertising account. When down-to-earth secretary Laura Partridge (Judy Holliday) asks some highly pertinent but embarrassing questions at the stockholders' meeting of a major New York corporation, the company's arrogant board of directors tries to buy her silence with a cushy position in shareholder relations. The scheme backfires, however, when Laura falls in love with the company's gruff CEO (Paul Douglas) and makes herself the leader of an all-out shareholders' revolt.
Hamlet
The life of Prince Hamlet of Denmark (Nicol Williamson) is thrown into disarray when he learns that his father was murdered by his uncle Claudius (Anthony Hopkins), the current king, who is now married to Hamlet's mother, Gertrude (Judy Parfitt). Hamlet's unstable behavior troubles his love, Ophelia (Marianne Faithfull), who is further shaken by the death of her father, Polonius (Mark Dignam). Hamlet methodically plots vengeance while other forces conspire to attack him.
The Fuller Brush Man
Clumsy sanitation worker Red Jones (Red Skelton) is fired from his street-cleaning job shortly after his girlfriend, Ann Elliot (Janet Blair), refuses his marriage proposal until he betters himself. While training to become a door-to-door salesman, he accidentally stumbles into a murder investigation when the corrupt sanitation commissioner (Nicholas Joy) who had fired him is killed. When the murder weapon is found to be one of the brushes Red sells, he must fight to prove his innocence.
