In this musical comedy, composer Gary Stuart (Ray Milland) and his wife, Connie (Jane Wyman), have an argument over her alleged affair with Courtney Craig (Tom Helmore). The Stuarts agree to get divorced, and each tries to move on to a new love: Gary with socialite Deborah Randolph (Karin Booth) and Connie with businessman Frank McGraw (Aldo Ray). However, they start to realize that they still have strong feelings for each other. The Stuarts must make a decision before their divorce is final.
A Woman of Distinction
Reserved college dean Susan Middlecott (Rosalind Russell) is all business and can't be bothered with love. However, when Susan meets charming British astronomy professor Alec Stevenson (Ray Milland), it seems that romance could be in the air. Though she resists being paired with Alec, things don't go as planned -- particularly when a publicity agent and even Susan's amiable father (Edmund Gwenn) get involved. When the jealous pair file for divorce, both rush into new relationships, but quickly realize their love never died. The soon-to-be-divorced husband and wife then both scramble to spoil each other's chances for newfound romance.
The War Lover
In World War II, American bomber pilots Capt. Buzz Rickson (Steve McQueen) and 1st Lt. Ed Boland (Robert Wagner) are stationed at a military base in England. Buzz is a hotshot pilot who consistently demonstrates great bravery -- if not outright cockiness -- in air combat. Ed, on the other hand, is more cautious in his approach and looks up to Buzz as the superior pilot. When both pilots fall for the same girl, Daphne Caldwell (Shirley Anne Field), their comradeship begins to fall apart.
Pushover
In the wake of a bank heist, Paul Sheridan is part of a team of cops assigned to recover the stolen $200,000. They stake out the apartment of Lona McLane, the girlfriend of one of the robbers, and before long Paul and Lona begin a steamy affair. Lona persuades Paul to kill her boyfriend so that the two of them can escape with the money, but, in order to pull it off, Paul first has to trick his boss and fellow detectives.
