The Awful Truth
Jerry (Cary Grant) and Lucy (Irene Dunne) are a married couple who doubt each other's fidelity: Jerry suspects Lucy and her music teacher (Alexander D'Arcy) of spending an evening together, and Lucy is convinced Jerry lied about a business trip. When the jealous pair file for divorce, both rush into new relationships, but quickly realize their love never died. The soon-to-be-divorced husband and wife then both scramble to spoil each other's chances for newfound romance.
Gidget
Diminutive teenager Francie Lawrence (Sandra Dee) has a bunch of boy-crazy friends, but she couldn't care less about boys. That is, until she goes to the beach one day and meets surfer Jeffrey Moondoggie Matthews (James Darren) and his friends, including Burt The Big Kahuna Vail (Cliff Robertson). Now, Francie, whom the boys call Gidget -- short for girl midget -- wants to learn how to surf, so she buys a used board and dives into the sunny world of Southern California surfing fever.
Forbidden
On a cruise ship headed to Havana, librarian Lulu Smith (Barbara Stanwyck) meets dashing attorney Bob Grover (Adolphe Menjou), and they quickly become inseparable. When they return home, their relationship is complicated by an inconvenient fact: Bob is married and unwilling to leave his bedridden wife. Their relationship dissolves, and Lulu decides not to tell him that she's pregnant with his child. But, when Bob becomes district attorney, a nosy reporter may uncover the explosive news anyway.
Mickey One
Stand-up comic Mickey One (Warren Beatty) is fearful that the gambling debts he amassed have made him a marked man in the Detroit clubs that he frequents. Assuming a false identity, Mickey flees to Chicago, where he cautiously resumes his career at the upscale Club Xanadu. When club owner Ed Castle (Hurd Hatfield) offers Mickey a shot at auditioning for an unknown man with reputed connections in the Midwest, the increasingly paranoid Mickey fears that the mob has finally closed in on him.
Cactus Flower
Distraught when her middle-aged lover breaks a date with her, 21-year-old Toni Simmons (Goldie Hawn) attempts suicide. Impressed by her action, her lover, dentist Julian Winston (Walter Matthau) reconsiders marrying Toni, but he worries about her insistence on honesty. Having fabricated a wife and three children, Julian readily accepts when his devoted nurse, Stephanie (Ingrid Bergman), who has secretly loved Julian for years, offers to act as his wife and demand a divorce.
Holiday
Johnny (Cary Grant) seems like a solid match for Julia (Doris Nolan), the socialite daughter of Edward Seton (Henry Kolker). Assured that Johnny is a worthy suitor, Edward approves of the pairing. But, as Johnny's wanderlust surfaces -- he is more interested in traveling than in business -- Edward starts to have doubts. Johnny also begins to wonder if he might not be a better match for Linda (Katharine Hepburn), Julia's outspoken younger sister, with whom he has much more in common.
You Can't Run Away From It
Furious over the elopement of his daughter, Ellie (June Allyson), with a fortune hunter, millionaire A.A. Andrews (Charles Bickford) has her kidnapped and sequestered on his yacht. Ellie defies her father by escaping and taking a bus to meet her husband, only to lose all her money to a thief. After Ellie accidentally allows the bus to leave without her, she is befriended by fellow passenger Peter Warne (Jack Lemmon), an unemployed reporter who knows her identity and is primed for a scoop.
Anatomy of a Murder
Semi-retired Michigan lawyer Paul Biegler (James Stewart) takes the case of Army Lt. Manion (Ben Gazzara), who murdered a local innkeeper after his wife (Lee Remick) claimed that he raped her. Over the course of an extensive trial, Biegler parries with District Attorney Lodwick (Brooks West) and out-of-town prosecutor Claude Dancer (George C. Scott) to set his client free, but his case rests on the victim's mysterious business partner (Kathryn Grant), who's hiding a dark secret.
