A vicious outlaw called Pecos Pete (Onslow Stevens) has long tormented the peaceful residents of a small frontier town. So these desperate people hire a dedicated new sheriff, Tex Miller (Glenn Ford), to bring this ruffian to justice. But, for all his determination, Tex is tricked by Pete and led into an ambush.
