Learning of Bonney's criminal past, Ollinger leads a posse against him that kills Tunstall instead. Bonney vows to avenge his boss' death, and his ensuing killing spree earns him the nickname "Billy the Kid."

Hangman's Knot

Major Matt Stewart (Randolph Scott) leads a troop of Confederate soldiers on a raid, targeting a wagon that is transporting Union gold. All the Union soldiers are killed except for one, who informs Stewart that the war had already ended a month ago. Stewart leads the troop into hiding, knowing they could face murder charges. After capturing a coach driven by nurse Molly Hull (Donna Reed), the soldiers try to evade a group of bandits chasing them to steal the gold.

The Bandit of Zhobe

After Maj. Crowley (Norman Wooland) arrests the warrior Kasim Khan (Victor Mature) under suspicion of attacking British troops, Khan escapes. While he is away, a rival warlord, Azhad Khan, dresses his troops as British soldiers and attacks Kasim's village, killing his family. Thinking that the British are behind the attack, Kasim wages war against them. Only Crowley's daughter, Zena (Anne Aubrey), with help from her guard, Stokes (Anthony Newley), sees that Kasim is not the enemy.

When Brazos takes the body to the nearby ranch of the powerful Banner (Griff Barnett), the rancher accuses him of the murder. Brazos leaves Banner's daughter, Bess (Barbara Britton), a vital piece of evidence in the crime, and then must evade Banner and a crooked sheriff as he reluctantly takes up arms to prove his innocence.
