Tough-guy police officer Jake Stone (Jack Palance) and his less seasoned partner, Tony Moore (David Barry Gray), are intent on taking down Osborn (Robert Davi), a ruthless criminal. However, since Osborn is holed up in the suburbs, Jake and Tony must hold their stakeout in a neighboring house, home to the Robbersons. The well-meaning family, including patriarch Norman (Chevy Chase), tries to assist the cops in their duties, but it proves to be unwanted help.

Art patron Hibbing Goodhue (Michael York) is murdered, and an accident-prone concert violinist, Ryan Harrison (Leslie Nielsen), is arrested as the main suspect. Harrison didn't do it, but he's convicted of the crime. He's on the bus that will take him to prison, but he manages to escape after a traffic accident. On the run, Harrison tries to clear his name by seeking out the real killer, while the police, led by Lt. Fergus Falls (Richard Crenna), hunt him down.

Having rescued robot Johnny Five from being destroyed by the military in "Short Circuit," Indian scientist Ben Jahveri moves to New York City to become an American citizen. After struggling to sell a few toy replicas of Johnny, Ben must scramble to make more when Sandy Banatoni orders 1,000 for her department store. With Johnny's help, Ben begins making the gadgets, but his plans are endangered when thief Oscar Baldwin steals Johnny.
The Karate Kid
Daniel (Ralph Macchio) moves to Southern California with his mother, Lucille (Randee Heller), but quickly finds himself the target of a group of bullies who study karate at the Cobra Kai dojo. Fortunately, Daniel befriends Mr. Miyagi (Noriyuki "Pat" Morita), an unassuming repairman who just happens to be a martial arts master himself. Miyagi takes Daniel under his wing, training him in a more compassionate form of karate and preparing him to compete against the brutal Cobra Kai.
