The Take

Deep in the slums of Los Angeles, good-natured Felix De La Pena (John Leguizamo), a family man and armored vehicle driver, is shot in the head during a hijacking attempt gone wrong. Though his wife, Marina (Rosie Perez), offers her love and support, Felix suffers from intense physical and emotional pain following the attack. As he begins to recover, he learns he has been framed for the stick-up; distraught, Felix decides to find the real culprit himself, despite his failing health and memory.

Ring of Fire

Hank (Kiefer Sutherland) and Ely Braxton (Marcus Thomas) are brothers and rivals. They're each haunted by the specter of their dad, Reid (Pete Postlethwaite), a famous bull rider turned absent father. Hank is a rodeo clown who breeds bulls; Ely is a brash young rider who won't let anything -- not even life-threatening injuries -- keep him out of the ring. When rodeo sweetheart Celia (Daryl Hannah) gets between them, sibling rivalry grows volatile and loyalties are tested.

Crazy in Alabama

In 1965, eccentric Lucille Vinson murders her abusive husband, chops off his head and flees to Hollywood to pursue television fame. Back in her Alabama hometown, nephew Peejoe Bullis witnesses the killing of a young black man by racist sheriff John Doggett and is unsure whether he should testify against him. When the law catches up with Lucille, she returns home, where Peejoe is becoming increasingly involved with the civil rights movement.

Places in the Heart

In 1935 rural Texas, recently widowed Edna Spaulding (Sally Field) struggles to survive with two small children, a farm to run and very little money in the bank -- not to mention a deadly tornado and the unwelcome presence of the Ku Klux Klan. Edna is aided by her beautician sister, Margaret (Lindsay Crouse) ; a blind boarder, Mr. Will (John Malkovich) ; and a would-be thief, Moze (Danny Glover), who decides to stick around to teach Edna how to plant and harvest cotton.

Brian's Song

Although they both play for the Chicago Bears, Brian Piccolo (Sean Maher) is white, a joker and mostly rides the bench while Gale Sayers (Mekhi Phifer) is black, serious and a rookie superstar. Neither likes the other much, but when coach Halas (Ben Gazzara) makes them the first interracial roommates in the NFL, the two gradually form a sincere friendship. Piccolo helps Sayers overcome an injury, and Sayers later gives Piccolo much needed support when he's diagnosed with terminal cancer.

Lost & Found

Sent to spend the summer with their uncle on a remote island, young brothers, Andy (Justin Kelly) and Mark (Benjamin Stockham), learn that their eccentric grandfather once owned the island but vanished without a trace, taking with him the secret to a vast fortune. Delving into the mysterious past of the island, the brothers discover that their grandfather designed a complex treasure hunt, a hunt that could lead to unimaginable wealth and heal their broken family.

RV

The Munros are a typically American dysfunctional family, complete with rebellious, uncommunicative offspring and baffled parents. Patriarch Bob (Robin Williams) would like to remedy the situation before his son and daughter instant-message their parents out of their lives. Bob rents a motor home to take the clan on vacation but soon finds that camping and togetherness can be hazardous to one's health.

Year One

After Neanderthal hunter Zed (Jack Black) is exiled for eating forbidden fruit, he and his sardonic buddy Oh (Michael Cera) leave their village and begin an epic journey through history. The pals encounter biblical characters such as Cain (David Cross) and Abel, Abraham (Hank Azaria), and others, and wind up in Sodom. Along the way, Zed debunks commonly held beliefs and replaces them with his own delusions of grandeur.
