Third Forensic Scientist Explains

Killer Or Cover-Up Murder Trial

S1, EP115 "Third Forensic Scientist Explains"

Jurors heard more details about the physical evidence found in the area where John O'Keefe was discovered. For a third time in a row, the State brought in a forensic scientist from the Massachusetts State Crime Lab to tell the jury about test results. Prosecutors argued that this evidence linked her to the death of her boyfriend in a hit and run.

S1, EP119 "Reviewing Surveillance Video"

Prosecutors turned the jury's attention to surveillance video from the hours leading up to John O'Keefe's death. This helped them put together a timeline of events which they hoped would convince the jury that the defendant killed her boyfriend in a deadly hit-and-run. Investigators collected footage from different locations around town to get a sense of how the defendant was moving about in the lead-up to O'Keefe's death.

S1, EP120 "Drinks Karen Read Had"

Hours before John O'Keefe lost his life, he and his girlfriend, Karen Read, were out at a bar with friends. Jurors in her murder trial got a glimpse of how many drinks she had- raising the idea that this could have led to a hit and run and John's death. Massachusetts State Police Sergeant Yuriy Bukhenik alleged that she had six alcoholic drinks in less than two hours. Police figured this out by retrieving bar receipts and watching surveillance video.

The defense's mental health expert wrapped up her long detailed testimony to jurors. Next, Lorena Bobbitt's legal team rested their case. But, the battle of the mental health experts got under way. But the state claimed the very target of her cutting was in itself a goal-oriented, reasoned action.

The Lorena Bobbitt Trial

S1, EP32 "Victim Recalled To The Witness Stand"

The State's forensic psychiatrist told jurors that Lorena Bobbitt was not insane when she attacked her husband. Dr. Miller Ryans concluded after evaluating the defendant that she chopped off John's penis in a malicious, pre-planned attempt to hurt him. The prosecution team recalled John back to the stand and raised questions on claims Lorena made under oath. They included abortions, forced anal sex, and moments of marital rape. All of which he denied he forced on her.
