Jurors will hear more about the mental health issues she claimed to be experiencing at the time her boyfriend, Jorge Torres, lost his life suffocating in a suitcase. On the stand in her murder trial was Dr. Michael Brannon, a forensic psychologist, who evaluated the defendant and diagnosed her with battered woman syndrome.

On the stand, Dr. Michael Brannon confirmed that Sarah Boone was a victim of battered woman syndrome in her turbulent and violent relationship with Jorge Torres. Next, a former neighbor of Sarah Boone took the stand. She recalled to the jury in seeing the defendant with a black eye.

A seasoned forensic psychologist explained to jurors how she evaluates the mental health of a person. Dr. Julie Harper testified that she met with the defendant nine times after she was accused of killing her boyfriend, Jorge Torres. She diagnosed Sarah Boone with low self-esteem, depression, alcoholism, narcissism, and PTSD after the full psychological evaluation.

The reality of the broken marriage between Gary and Melody Farris was explained further for jurors. The couple's youngest son happened to be a 35-year-old farmhand who lived and worked on the 10-acre property. Despite the Defense's hints of Scott Farris in being the real killer in this case, prosecutors argued instead that he had no motive to kill his father. One, he was completely reliant on him financially and two, he emotionally testified through tears that he loved his father.

Gary and Melody Farris' son who was living on the farm with them had to defend himself on the stand. Scott, who first discovered his father's remains, was being accused by his mother's defense as being the real shooter in Gary's death. Scott testified that he was told that he was a suspect in his father's death soon after he came across his remains. But until the arrest of his mother for first-degree murder nearly a year after Gary was killed no other persons were treated as suspects by police.

Melody Farris' defense team wasn't letting Scott off the hook. Her lawyer argued that with his height and weight only he could've shot and killed his dad, Gary, and dragged his 300-pound body to a burn pile to have his remains charred. Scott denied having any role in killing his father and disposing of his body. He admitted to the jury that he fully understood why investigators deemed him a suspect in the homicide.

A close friend of the defendant's son took the stand. He happened to be with Scott Farris earlier that morning when Gary Farris was found dead with his human remains charred in a burn pile on the family property. Next, the youngest child of Gary and Melody Farris testified. Jurors already heard extensive testimony from two of the couple's adult sons.

Prosecutors called in her daughter, Emily, to bring light to the jury on how her mother was cheating on her father, Gary, years before he was killed. According to Emily, her years-long affair wrecked the family. The jury then learned more about the drama in the family in the lead up to Gary's fatal shooting. This time the perspective came from the youngest daughter, who told jurors that Melody forced her to invite her secret lover to her own wedding.
