A state police sergeant testified about the early days of the investigation into John O'Keefe's death. As law enforcement interviewed Karen Read, investigators were seizing her car and bringing it in to be examined. Jurors watched video of Read's car being brought into police custody. They impounded her large black Lexus SUV for the early stages of their criminal investigation, just hours after John O'Keefe was pronounced dead.

Prosecutors turned the jury's attention to surveillance video from the hours leading up to John O'Keefe's death. This helped them put together a timeline of events which they hoped would convince the jury that the defendant killed her boyfriend in a deadly hit-and-run. Investigators collected footage from different locations around town to get a sense of how the defendant was moving about in the lead-up to O'Keefe's death.

Hours before John O'Keefe lost his life, he and his girlfriend, Karen Read, were out at a bar with friends. Jurors in her murder trial got a glimpse of how many drinks she had- raising the idea that this could have led to a hit and run and John's death. Massachusetts State Police Sergeant Yuriy Bukhenik alleged that she had six alcoholic drinks in less than two hours. Police figured this out by retrieving bar receipts and watching surveillance video.

The Wisconsin versus Kyle Rittenhouse trial began over a year after a fateful night of protests in Kenosha, Wisconsin in the summer of 2020; the defendant was a 17-year-old teen who shot and killed two men and seriously injured a third.

The defense's mental health expert wrapped up her long detailed testimony to jurors. Next, Lorena Bobbitt's legal team rested their case. But, the battle of the mental health experts got under way. Both the defense and state's forensic psychiatrist agreed that Lorena was a sick woman. Her defense alleged that acute psychosis drove her to mutilate her husband. But the state claimed the very target of her cutting was in itself a goal-oriented, reasoned action.

The State's forensic psychiatrist told jurors that Lorena Bobbitt was not insane when she attacked her husband. Dr. Miller Ryans concluded after evaluating the defendant that she chopped off John's penis in a malicious, pre-planned attempt to hurt him. The prosecution team recalled John back to the stand and raised questions on claims Lorena made under oath. They included abortions, forced anal sex, and moments of marital rape. All of which he denied he forced on her.

John Bobbitt, who was back on the witness stand, answered questions under cross-examination. He told the jury that it was not marital rape that led Lorena to cut off his penis but that she was frustrated with bad sex that night. In the State's rebuttal case John's close friends and family testified to specific incidents that occurred in the Bobbitt's home life. Jurors heard a side of Lorena that differed from her testimony.

John Bobbitt's cousin faced cross-examination. He testified that Lorena was physical toward John and even began fights between the two. Jurors later listened to testimony from several members of her husband, John's side of the family. His aunt, who raised John since he was five, told jurors that he and Lorena rushed to get married because her green card was about to expire. The aunt later testified that the big separation during his marriage with Lorena was because she was a mean wife.

Just days before Lorena Bobbitt maimed her husband, John, she told a neighbor that she was leaving him. On the stand this friend recalled that she offered Lorena a place to stay but Lorena never took her up on her offer. Next, the jury heard all about an off-handed joke Lorena made at work weeks before this attack. It include cutting her husband's penis off because it would hurt more than killing him. Jurors would decide if Lorena Bobbitt was really joking when she did this very thing.
