Hell Is for Heroes
During World War II, a small group of soldiers led by the brave Sergeant Larkin (Harry Guardino) anticipate returning home after fighting on the Siegfried Line in France. Among them are Reese (Steve McQueen), a rebellious loner who lives for battle, and Corby (Bobby Darin), a slick hustler. However, the squad is then informed that they must go back to the front lines, where they are vastly outnumbered and forced to fight within the reach of a menacing German pillbox.
Operation Pacific
In the South Pacific, submarine officer Duke Gifford (John Wayne) and the crew of the "Thunderfish" are attacked by the Japanese during a rescue mission, and their torpedoes malfunction. Returning safely to Pearl Harbor, Duke meets his ex-wife, Mary (Patricia Neal), who still feels strongly for him but is engaged to a pilot, the brother of Duke's commander, Pop Perry (Ward Bond). Determined to win Mary back, Duke is sidetracked when he and the crew are ordered on a mission with new torpedoes.
Major Dundee
During the end of the Civil War, Major Dundee guards Confederate prisoners, Union deserters and ordinary hard-bitten criminals in a remote fort. When Apaches attack the fort and make off with three children, Dundee must set up a posse including Confederates, who face a choice between joining up or being shot. The feud between Dundee and Tyreen is also heated up by a sultry Mexican widow.
Masterson of Kansas
In the 1870s, Marshal Wyatt Earp (Bruce Cowling) calls upon Dodge City, Kan., Sheriff Bat Masterson (George Montgomery) to track down rancher Merrick (John Maxwell), who is accused of murder. But, thanks to some proof held by local Native American Chief Yellow Hawk (Jay Silverheels), Masterson realizes Merrick might be the victim of a frame-up. So, with the help of Earp and gunfighter Doc Holliday (James Griffith), Masterson sets out to find those who are really behind the killing.
Sahara
Set in the Libyan desert in 1942 where a group of American soldiers become isolated in their tank during the retreat to El Alamein. As they drive across the desert they pick up a group of Allied stragglers, but with their supplies of fuel, food and water running low, they try to reach a desert fortress, but a large German detachment is also heading there.
The Story of Dr. Wassell
This film presents a dramatization of the wartime heroics of naval doctor Corydon M. Wassell (Gary Cooper), who is stationed in the East Indies during a Japanese attack on the USS Marblehead. After the less seriously wounded soldiers are evacuated to Australia, Wassell stays in Java to save those left behind. As the Japanese advance, he risks his life and defies orders in an attempt to rescue as many as possible. His actions are later recognized in a radio address given by President Roosevelt.
Lawless Range
Rodeo man John Middleton (John Wayne) is called upon for a favor by Hank Mason (Wally Howe), a friend of the Middletons who lives in a nearby town. But, when John arrives at Hank's, the man's niece, Ann (Sheila Mannors), informs him that Hank has been abducted. John then teams up with the local sheriff, takes on a disguise and begins investigating cattle rustlers who could be connected to the disappearance. He's led to a corrupt banker (Frank McGlynn Jr.), who has plans to take over the town.
