El Dorado
Heartless tycoon Bart Jason (Edward Asner) hires a group of thugs to force the MacDonald family out of El Dorado so he can claim their land. J.P. Harrah, the town's sheriff, is too deep in the throes of alcoholism to help the family. When Harrah's friend, noble elder gunfighter Cole Thorton (John Wayne), learns of the predicament, he travels to El Dorado with his upstart friend, Mississippi (James Caan), to help Harrah clean up in time for a shootout against Jason's men.

Overwhelmed by her suffocating schedule, touring European princess Ann (Audrey Hepburn) takes off for a night while in Rome. At work the next morning, Joe finds out Ann's regal identity and bets his editor he can get exclusive interview with her, but romance soon gets in the way.

Crime reporter John Jones (Joel McCrea) is turning in nothing but dull copy. His editor, unhappy with his work, hopes a change of scenery will be the thing Jones needs to get back on track. Re-assigned to Europe as a foreign correspondent, Jones is very much out of his element. When he stumbles on a spy ring, he feels ill-equipped to unravel the truth alone and he seeks help from a beautiful politician's daughter (Laraine Day) and an urbane English journalist (George Sanders).
Sundown Saunders
While gambling, Sundown Saunders (Bob Steele) wins the deed to a fertile tract of land and decides to settle down as a rancher. Along the way, he meets Bess Preston (Catherine Cotter), a sheepherder's daughter who, it turns out, was sold rights to the same piece of land. Arriving in town, Sundown tries to get to the bottom of the phony deeds, but crosses Sheriff Baker (Earl Dwire) and winds up a wanted man. He will have to break up the local crime ring if he is to clear his name.
