Beach Party
Dolores (Annette Funicello) and Frankie (Frankie Avalon), attractive young surfers in Southern California, are just out for a good time. Their relaxed lifestyle fascinates Professor Sutwell (Bob Cummings), an anthropologist who decides to study the social lives of teens. A series of beach-themed films would follow the blueprint set by this one, which hinges on romantic rivalries, rugged motorcyclists, an attempted crime and plenty of handsome people.

Man of the West
Ex-outlaw Link Jones (Gary Cooper) is aboard a train when it is robbed by bandits. When he tries to intervene, he's knocked out and left in the middle of nowhere with saloon singer Billie (Julie London), whom he hoped to hire as a schoolteacher in his town, and Sam (Arthur O'Connell), a con man. Link brings the three to his nearby former home, now the hideout for the bandits, who are led by his uncle (Lee J. Cobb) -- and to save his new friends, he must rejoin the old gang for one last holdup.

Luke Whispering Smith (Alan Ladd) is a mild-mannered policeman tasked with stopping a gang of train robbers, led by Barney Rebstock (Donald Crisp). Luke is faced with a conflict of interest when his good friend, Murray Sinclair (Robert Preston), loses his railroad job and, in an act of defiance, joins Rebstock's gang of outlaws. Reduced to transporting gold from a distant mine to a small-town bank, retired lawman Steve Judd (Joel McCrea) recruits friend Gil Westrum (Randolph Scott), who has been performing in a traveling carnival. Unknown to Steve, the restless Gil and a young drifter intend to steal the next gold transport. On the way, the men help Elsa Knudsen (Mariette Hartley) to break free from her zealot father and join her fiancé at the mine, not realizing the consequences that await them all.
