Sweet-natured Alice Sycamore (Jean Arthur) falls for banker's son Tony Kirby (James Stewart). Rancher Clay Hardin (Errol Flynn) has discovered that local saloon owner Roy Stuart (Paul Kelly) is selling cattle that doesn't belong to him, including some of Clay's own stolen stock.
