Shoot-Out at Medicine Bend
Just discharged from service, Capt. Devlin (Randolph Scott) and his cavalry pals Maitland (James Garner) and Clegg (Gordon Jones) travel to Devlin's brother's home, but arrive to see the place overrun by American Indians. Devlin's sibling is killed because of his shoddy ammo, so the captain and his friends decide to hunt down the man who sold the bum bullets. They ride into town and find that the culprit is Clark (James Craig), a rich businessman who has the law in his pocket.

When arrogant and stubborn Civil War hero Lieutenant Colonel Owen Thursday (Henry Fonda) arrives in Arizona with his daughter, Philadelphia (Shirley Temple), to assume command of the Fort Apache outpost, he clashes with level-headed Captain Kirby York (John Wayne). Joining up with the newly arrived Marshal Martin Weatherby, Hollister heads for Dallas, where his targets are terrorizing the population with a crime spree.

But, unknown to Potts, she is the fiancée of a mobster (Dana Andrews) and wanted by the police. In the ensuing mayhem, Potts must stay on his toes or be swallowed up by bigger fish.
