We're Not Married

Five married couples discover, to their shock, that they're not really married! The justice of the peace who presided over their nuptials didn't have a valid license. Annabel, recently crowned Mrs. Mississippi, has more of a semantic problem.

While Sidney (Fred MacMurray) and Elizabeth Burns (Lauren Bacall) have a strained relationship, Bill Baxter (Cornel Wilde) and his wife, Katie (June Allyson), are earnest and down-to-earth. Rounding out the competitors is the poised Jerry Talbot (Van Heflin), whose uncouth spouse, Carol (Arlene Dahl), threatens to derail his chances.

Jolly, however, cares only about driving away the hated Rupert, who for his part thinks to stage an exorcism.
