Enraged, Bennett lashes out at the mine's negligent but unapologetic owner (Arthur Loft) and lands in jail for his troubles. Now, it's up to Autry to set things right.

Learning of Beauchard's intent to cheat them, the men keep his cattle, and Paxton convinces Dan to turn to cattle ranching. Their ranch becomes successful, and Paxton eventually marries Dan's sister, Abby (Frances Gifford) -- but Beauchard soon returns to challenge them.

Thomas McCoy (Edmund MacDonald) works for a successful cattle buyer. But, due to mounting gambling debts, McCoy begins to overcharge his rancher clientele and take the profits for himself. Before long, these men get wise and plan to take their cattle to a different buyer. But that elicits speedy and bloody vengeance from McCoy and his cronies. At a loss, the desperate ranchers call upon trusty cowboy Gene Autry (Gene Autry) to step in and save the day.

Aided by pal Frog Millhouse (Smiley Burnette), he crafts a plan to knock Johnson down a peg.
