The Virginian
Determined to carve out a life on the new frontier, the Virginian (Bill Pullman) heads west to Wyoming. He signs on as foreman of a cattle ranch and begins romancing Molly Stark (Diane Lane), a quiet but pretty schoolteacher who's also from the east. An old rivalry rears its head in the form of Trampas (Colm Feore), a former friend who betrayed the Virginian. Another rancher begins a feud, and the Virginian must defend his honor while still hoping to gain Molly's approval.

Recently acquitted for the accidental death of her abusive, alcoholic husband, Josie Minick (Doris Day) attempts to rejuvenate her dilapidated ranch with insurance money and fails.
