The Stalking Moon
While moving a group of Apaches to a Native American reservation in Arizona, an American scout named Sam Varner (Gregory Peck) is surprised to find a white woman, Sarah Carver (Eva Marie Saint), living with the tribe. When Sam learns that she was taken captive by an Indian named Salvaje ten years ago, he attempts to escort Sarah and her half-Native American son to his home in New Mexico. However, it soon becomes clear that Salvaje is hot on their trail.
The Bravados
Four men are sentenced to hang in the small town of Rio Arriba, and Jim Douglass (Gregory Peck) is glad to see it happen. Jim believes the men murdered his wife and wants them to suffer. However, things go awry when the convicts escape from jail, kidnapping young Emma (Kathleen Gallant) as they gallop out of town. A search party forms with Jim in the lead, especially intent on catching them. He encounters each villain individually, growing closer to rescuing Emma and exacting his revenge.

While in Montana, he comes across a mining camp with a hanging tree and rescues a man named Rune (Ben Piazza) from the noose. With Rune as his servant, Frail decides to settle down, and he takes over as town doctor. He meets Elizabeth (Maria Schell), who is suffering from shock, and the two soon fall in love. But when Elizabeth is attacked, Frail's attempt to help her lands them both in trouble.

A wagon train moves across the plains, only to be attacked by lawless Native American raiders. While attempting to rid the plains of raiders, Sioux Chief Yellow Eagle (Ian MacDonald) and his warriors discover the scene of the massacre. They adopt the sole survivor, a young boy, and rename him Warbonnet. Years later, the adult Warbonnet (Charlton Heston) is in a tough spot when a war erupts between the Sioux and the settlers, prompting the adopted pioneer to question his allegiances.

They begin rehabilitating the ranch, but after a fatal gunfight, Covington and his men are given an ultimatum: leave town in three days or suffer the consequences.
