The concert film also features a special acoustic encore of older Young songs, as a special favor to Demme for the purposes of the film. Songs performed include "Far from Home," "Heart of Gold," "Harvest Moon," and "Comes a Time."

Olivia Lawrence (Meg Tilly), heiress to her recently deceased mother's sizable fortune, travels in the elite social circles of the Hamptons. Olivia becomes infatuated with Tim Whalen (Rob Lowe), an attractive yacht captain who appears to be uninterested in her money. But the duplicitous Tim -- with help from Olivia's stepfather, Tony Gateworth (John Glover), and childhood friend, Mike McGill (Doug Savant) -- is plotting something sinister against the unwitting heiress.

Thad Beaumont (Timothy Hutton) has had success writing novels under both his real name and his pseudonym, George Stark, which he uses to publish base thrillers. When word gets out that they are one and the same, the author holds a mock funeral for Stark. But after a rash of murders eerily similar to those in the Stark books, Thad and his wife, Liz (Amy Madigan), realize that Stark is real and responsible, and must work with local Sheriff Pangborn (Michael Rooker) to stop him.

After making a horrific discovery in the basement of an old abandoned church, Trish (Gina Philips) and her brother Darry (Justin Long) watch their routine road trip home from college turn into a heart-stopping race for their lives. They find themselves the chosen prey of an indestructible force that relentlessly pursues them and gives a new and chilling meaning to the old song "Jeepers Creepers."

After his son is set upon by a scarecrow that seems to have come alive, farmer Jack Taggart Sr. (Ray Wise) and his son, Jack Taggart Jr. (Luke Edwards), go looking for an explanation. Meanwhile, a bus carrying high-school students breaks down nearby, and a creature known as the Creeper (Jonathan Breck) starts a killing spree. The elder Taggart soon realizes that the killings and the attack on his son are connected, and, after alerting the community to be on guard, he aims to pummel the Creeper.
