Rob Roy
In 18th century Scotland, Robert Roy MacGregor (Liam Neeson) is the head of a proud Highlands clan that herds cattle. Rob takes a one thousand pound loan from the Marquis of Montrose (John Hurt) to feed his people through the upcoming winter -- before his friend MacDonald (Eric Stoltz) can return with the money, he is murdered by swordsman Archibald Cunningham (Tim Roth). Rob is forced to go on the run and eventually confronts Cunningham after he rapes his wife (Jessica Lange).

A Civil War soldier develops a relationship with a band of Lakota Indians. Attracted by the simplicity of their lifestyle, he chooses to leave his former life behind to be with them. Having observed him, they give the name Dances With Wolves. Soon he is a welcomed member of the tribe and falls in love with a white woman who has been raised in the tribe. Reluctantly teaming up, Kate and Doug's icy rapport begins to thaw, resulting in a chemistry both in and out of the rink.
