Wee Willie Winkie
With her widowed mother (June Lang), precocious Priscilla (Shirley Temple) travels to India to live with her grandfather, Col. Williams (C. Aubrey Smith). A stern officer in the British army, the colonel makes it clear that a military garrison isn't any place for a child. Priscilla proves otherwise, befriending tenderhearted Sgt. MacDuff (Victor McLaglen), getting caught up in the plot of a rebel leader (Cesar Romero) and charming everyone in sight.
Heidi
An orphaned young girl named Heidi (Shirley Temple) lives happily with her grouchy but gentle grandfather, Adolph (Jean Hersholt) in the Swiss Alps. When she's stolen by her ruthless aunt, Dete (Mady Christians), and sold as a servant to the wealthy Herr Sesemann (Sidney Blackmer), Adolph embarks on a journey to find his granddaughter. Meanwhile, Heidi keeps her spirits high and befriends Sesemann's crippled daughter, Klara (Marcia Mae Jones), but longs to return home.

The Best of Everything

The Violent Men
Former Union soldier John Parrish (Glenn Ford) wants to sell his ranch and start a new life by settling down out east. However, the ruthless tactics of Lew Wilkison (Edward G. Robinson), the scheming businessman interested in his property, make Parrish reconsider the move, especially after one of his ranch hands is murdered. Adding to the increasingly tense conflict is Wilkison's wife, Martha (Barbara Stanwyck), who is cheating on her husband with his brother, Cole (Brian Keith).

The Secret of Convict Lake
After a group of convicts escapes from prison, they take refuge in the wilderness. When Canfield and his fellow fugitives reach an isolated farming settlement where the men are all away, it creates tension with the local women. Things get more dire when rumors of hidden money arise, and Canfield discovers that the man who framed him is part of the community.

Phone Call From a Stranger
After discovering that his wife has been unfaithful, attorney David Trask (Gary Merrill) decides to fly to Los Angeles. He becomes friendly with three other passengers, each with his own story: salesman Eddie Hoke (Keenan Wynn), actress Binky Gay (Shelley Winters) and Dr. Bob Fortness (Michael Rennie). When the plane crashes and the other three are among the dead, Trask decides to visit the families of each. He helps them cope and also finds out some surprises about his new friends.
Suspense
After the mysterious Joe Morgan (Barry Sullivan) starts working for ice skating magnate Frank Leonard, Joe suggests improvements to the skating show that stars Leonard's wife, Roberta (Belita). Due to these ideas, Leonard promotes Morgan to a managerial position. However, Morgan soon starts trying to seduce Roberta as well. Once Leonard disappears in an avalanche, Roberta is left wondering whether he is alive or dead. She must also decide how much she can trust Morgan.
