Charming, headstrong young Elizabeth Blair (Shirley Temple) lives at the Lakeside Orphanage where her sister, Mary (Rochelle Hudson), works in the kitchen. Mary writes songs that Elizabeth sings. The child's performance and her spirit impress a young, wealthy trustee, Edward Morgan (John Boles), who poses as a lawyer with an offer of adoption for Elizabeth, but she won't leave without her sister. Edward decides to bring them both to his mansion, and soon begins to fall in love with Mary.

Captain January

Star (Shirley Temple) is a shipwrecked orphan girl growing up with a gentle lighthouse-keeper named Captain January (Guy Kibbee), who rescued her from the waves when she was just a baby. While she loves her life of dancing and spitting with sailors, a bitter truant officer believes that Star belongs in a boarding school. When the authorities insist that Star must leave her only guardian, Captain January fears that he may lose his lovable companion for good.

Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm

After Rebecca (Shirley Temple) is mistakenly rejected at an audition for a radio advertising campaign, her stepfather takes her upstate to stay at Sunnybrook Farm with her Aunt Miranda (Helen Westley), who bans her from show business. Meanwhile, advertising exec Tony Kent (Randolph Scott) desperately searches for Rebecca, who he has only heard, unaware that she's on the farm next to his. True Grit

After hired hand Tom Chaney (Jeff Corey) murders the father of 14-year-old Mattie Ross (Kim Darby), she seeks vengeance and hires U.S. Marshal Rooster Cogburn (John Wayne), a man of true grit, to track Chaney into Indian territory. As the two begin their pursuit, a Texas Ranger, La Boeuf (Glen Campbell), joins the manhunt in hopes of capturing Chaney for the murder of a Texas senator and collecting a substantial reward. The three clash on their quest of bringing to justice the same man.

Rio Conchos

When a shipment of repeating rifles is stolen from the U.S. Cavalry, Capt. Haven (Stuart Whitman) and Sgt. Franklyn are sent to recover them and enlist the aid of an alcoholic former confederate and Indian hater, James Lassiter (Richard Boone) and a Mexican murderer, Rodriguez (Tony Franciosa). Lassiter, who owns one of the rifles, says it came from his embittered former commander Col. Pardee, while an Apache woman informant reveals that Pardee intends to sell the stolen arms to her people.

Robinson), the scheming businessman interested in his property, make Parrish reconsider the move, especially after one of his ranch hands is murdered. Adding to the increasingly tense conflict is Wilkison's wife, Martha (Barbara Stanwyck), who is cheating on her husband with his brother, Cole (Brian Keith).

The Secret of Convict Lake

After a group of convicts escapes from prison, they take refuge in the wilderness. The nuptials between New York City attorney Michael Fraser (Michael Whalen) and his secretary, Julie Hayes (Gloria Stuart), hit a snag when a case inspires Julie to postpone their wedding in favor of trying to help save Peter Vincent (Robert Kellard), an innocent man accused of murder, from a death sentence. Upon discovering that the murderer is actually Peter's gangster father, Johnny Doyle (Paul Kelly), Michael and Julie attempt to clear Peter's name and get the truth out about Johnny.
