Sociopathic students Artie Straus (Bradford Dillman) and Judd Steiner (Dean Stockwell) murder a boy in a philosophical exercise to commit the flawless crime. Despite their precautions, one of them inadvertently left a key piece of evidence at the crime scene, and they have been arrested and put on trial. It's up to their nationally famous attorney (Orson Welles) to save these misguided souls from execution. The film is based on the infamous Leopold and Loeb case of 1924.

Belle Starr

After the Civil War, Union troops catch Belle Shirley (Gene Tierney), a Southern belle, harboring the wanted Confederate guerrilla fighter Sam Starr (Randolph Scott). There's a single piece of land around Flagstone with water on it, and rail baron Morton (Gabriele Ferzetti) aims to have it, knowing the new railroad will have to stop there. The Last Wagon

Comanche Todd (Richard Widmark), a white man living with an Indian tribe, is captured by Sheriff Bull Harper (George Mathews) following the murder of the sheriff's three brothers. Heading back to town, the wagon train in which the vicious sheriff and his abused prisoner are traveling is attacked by a vengeful Apache tribe whose women and children have been killed by a band of white men. After the slaughter, Todd must bring the survivors, including the beautiful Jenny (Felicia Farr), to safety.

Outlaw Kid Blue (Dennis Hopper) decides to give up robbing trains and go straight. Moving to the small town of Dime Box, Texas, under the name of Bickford Warner, he takes any honest work he can find. With the help of a preacher (Peter Boyle) and Reese Ford (Warren Oates), a friend he makes at the local factory, it seems that Bickford may finally be turning his life around. But for Bickford, hard work just may be too hard, especially when there are plenty of trains to rob.

Angels in the Outfield

A newspaper reporter, Jennifer Paige (Janet Leigh), is investigating the Pittsburgh Pirates' losing streak. The team is led by manager Guffy McGovern (Paul Douglas), whose swearing and fighting hinder his team's progress. Meanwhile, an orphan named Bridget White (Donna Corcoran) has been praying for the team, and her pleas are answered by an angelic voice. The angel begins urging Guffy to be kinder in return for helping the Pirates win, but the playoffs test the manager's temper.
