An American Christmas Carol

This loose adaptation of the classic Charles Dickens tale moves the story to New England, where stingy elderly businessman Benedict Slade (Henry Winkler) ruthlessly collects debts and makes life miserable for everyone around him. His unscrupulous behavior warrants a Christmas Eve visit from his ghostly former partner and other spirits that show him the error of his ways. Can Slade turn his life around and become a better person before it's too late?

The Night They Saved Christmas

All is not well in the North Pole. An oil company risks ending Christmas forever by using dynamite in the Arctic to find drilling sites. Santa Claus (Art Carney) marshals his elves in an effort to appeal to corporate executive Michael Baldwin (Paul Le Mat) ; his environmentally attuned wife, Claudia (Jaclyn Smith) ; and, of course, their gift-loving children. A trip to Santa's workshop, guided by the bearded one himself, just might be needed to save the day!

Mrs. Santa Claus

It's a week before Christmas and Mrs. Claus (Angela Lansbury) is feeling unappreciated when Santa Claus (Charles Durning) refuses to look over her new route for distributing presents. She goes for a test drive on the sleigh, but lands in New York City due to horrid weather, injuring her reindeer. While she is incognito as "Mrs. North," she befriends neighborhood inhabitants and helps them resolve some of their own issues, which run the gamut from worker abuse to unrequited love.

Party Girl

Deft lawyer Thomas Farrell (Robert Taylor) has found himself a role successfully defending the crooked goons of crime boss Rico Angelo (Lee J. Cobb). When Thomas meets glamorous dancer Vicki Gaye (Cyd Charisse), he falls in love with her. Vicki makes Thomas realize that he should stop representing criminals, and he tries to break ties with Angelo. However, the mobster will not let Thomas free and kidnaps Vicki in order to keep the lawyer in his employ.

The Mob

After witnessing what appears to be a police officer shooting a man in cold blood, detective Johnny Damico (Broderick Crawford) decides to go undercover. Tracing the murder victim to a waterfront crime ring, Damico poses as longshoreman Tim Flynn, and infiltrates the corrupt New York dockworkers union. There he meets union toughs Joe Castro (Ernest Borgnine) and Gunner (Neville Brand), who eventually lead him to crime kingpin Blackie Clegg (Matt Crowley).

The House on 92nd Street

In a story based on actual events, Nazi spies in New York City try to recruit German-American college student Bill Dietrich (William Eythe) at the height of World War II. Dietrich instead offers his services to the FBI as a double agent. Infiltrating the spy ring, which is headquartered in an East 92nd Street townhouse, Dietrich must contend with the house's beautiful owner (Signe Hasso) and, ultimately, a cache of smuggled atomic secrets that could derail the entire American war effort.

The Great Rupert

Louie Amendola (Jimmy Durante), once a vaudeville performer with his wife and daughter, hasn't been getting any work, and, as Christmas approaches, his family is homeless. They find a room at Frank Dingle's (Frank Orth) house, but don't know how they'll pay the rent. Then the money Frank's been hiding in the ceiling above their apartment lands in the Amendolas' hands when a crafty squirrel heaves it out of its hiding space, causing more complications within the household.

Panic in the Streets

After Dr. Clint Reed (Richard Widmark) is called in to supervise an autopsy of a unknown man, he discovers that the John Doe died of pneumonic plague. Revealing his discovery to the mayor and city officials, Reed is informed that he has 48 hours before the public will be told about a potential outbreak. Joined by Captain Tom Warren (Paul Douglas) and his wife, Nancy (Barbara Bel Geddes), Reed must race against time to find out where the unknown man came from.

Delusional patient Gunther Wyckoff (Marshall Thompson) escapes from a mental institution intent on locating and killing Dr. John Faron (Sam Levene), whose testimony sent him to the asylum. After murdering the bartender, Wyckoff demands the police bring him Faron.

When bargirl Vivian (Jan Sterling) discovers that her married boyfriend has refused to leave his wife, she steals a car and drives to Cape Cod to confront him. Several months later her skeleton washes ashore, and local police officer Peter Morales (Ricardo Montalban) must work with Harvard forensics expert Dr. McAdoo (Bruce Bennett) in order to piece together the twisted tale and discover who the murderer is before an innocent suspect pays the ultimate price.
