This sequel to William Friedkin's 1971 crime drama finds Detective "Popeye" Doyle (Gene Hackman) still hot on the trail of slippery drug trafficker Charnier (Fernando Rey), but this time in Marseilles, France. Uprooted from his familiar New York City beat, Doyle struggles to assert himself in a strange city and break the drug ring wide open. When Charnier's goons force him into a heroin addiction, the tough cop must summon every ounce of his courage to kick the habit cold turkey.

Bite the Bullet

A disparate group of individuals enters a horse race through 700 miles of the Wild West to win a large cash prize. The contestants include two ex-Rough Riders (Gene Hackman, James Coburn), an aging cowboy who refuses to slow down (Ben Johnson), an inexperienced youth (Jan-Michael Vincent), a Mexican (Mario Arteaga), an Englishman (Ian Bannen) and a woman (Candice Bergen). Over the course of the trek, the riders begin to shed their biases toward gender, race and age, and appreciate one another.

The Poseidon Adventure

En route from New York City to Greece on New Year's Eve, majestic passenger ship the S.S. Poseidon is overtaken by a tidal wave. With the captain (Leslie Nielsen) dead, surviving passengers, including the passionate Rev. Scott (Gene Hackman), band together in the ship's ballroom. The group struggles to avert fires, flooding, structural instability and mechanical malfunctions as they make their way through a maze of ladders and tunnels in their desperate attempt to escape a watery grave.

Hans Baerlach (Martin Ritt) is a Swiss police detective who has dedicated much of his career to pursuing powerful and allegedly murderous businessman Richard Gastmann (Robert Shaw). Though Baerlach's partner (Donald Sutherland) meets his demise while investigating Gastmann, his replacement, Walter Tschanz (Jon Voight), is undaunted. Meanwhile, the lovely Anna Crawley (Jacqueline Bisset) becomes involved in the case, which proceeds to take many twists and turns.

The Eagle Has Landed

During World War II, Nazi officer Max Radl devises a plan to kidnap or kill the British prime minister. Approved by German Cmdr. Heinrich Himmler, the scheme moves forward with Col. Kurt Steiner leading the mission, aided by Liam Devlin, an Irishman with a deep hatred of England. As the plan unfolds, it seems to be going well -- until certain events threaten the group's shot at success.

A Midnight Clear

In the winter of 1944, American soldiers led by Will Knott (Ethan Hawke) are assigned to capture a small squad of German soldiers posted in France's Ardennes forest. Tired of war, the Americans have already lost half their division and discover that their German enemy is equally unwilling to fight. With Jewish soldier Stan Shutzer (Arye Gross) interpreting, the Germans and Americans agree on a plan that will let the former surrender without violence -- but then, tragedy strikes.

Peyton Place

In this adaptation of Grace Metalious' popular novel, steamy goings-on abound in the small, prim New England community of Peyton Place. Newcomer Michael Rossi (Lee Philips) arrives in town on the eve of World War II and is soon involved with gorgeous but prudish shop owner Constance MacKenzie (Lana Turner), who keeps some secrets from her daughter, Allison. Amidst engagements and school graduations, Michael discovers seething, dark undercurrents that include rape, suicide -- and murder.

Return to Peyton Place

Allison (Carol Lynley) leaves her hometown of Peyton Place, N.H., for New York City after she's contacted by Lewis Jackman (Jeff Chandler), a powerful publisher who's interested in her tell-all book about her hometown. In the big city, Allison promotes her book, which becomes a runaway success, and she also begins a flirtatious relationship with Lewis, who is married. Back in Peyton Place, the secrets Allison has revealed could very easily tear the town apart.

Businessman Fred Staples (Van Heflin) is plunged into the rough-and-tumble of office politics at his new job when he discovers that he is meant to replace the decent but ailing vice president, Bill Briggs (Ed Begley). A battle of wills ensues between Fred and the ruthless company president, Mr. Ramsey (Everett Sloane), who is intent on humiliating Bill into resigning. Despite the urgings of his pragmatic wife, Nancy, Fred resists losing his soul to the cold calculations of naked ambition.

The Verdict

Scotland Yard Superintendent George Edward Grodman (Sydney Greenstreet) is fired after an investigation he heads up results in the wrongful death sentence of an innocent man. Grodman's replacement is the arrogant John R. Buckley (George Coulouris), who haughtily delights in his sudden promotion. Wanting to spite Buckley while also finding redemption for his own mistake, Grodman teams up with artist Victor Emmric (Peter Lorre) to solve a mysterious new murder case.

Boomerang!

Connecticut prosecutor Henry Harvey (Dana Andrews), faced with a political maelstrom in the wake of the shooting death of a Catholic priest on a city street corner, feels tremendous pressure to prosecute a vagrant ex-soldier whom Police Chief Robinson (Lee J. Cobb) apprehended in connection with the crime. After the vagrant confesses, it looks to be an open and shut case, but Harvey remains unconvinced and chooses to risk his career in order to discover the truth.

A 1950's sheriff in Georgia places the blame on two guys and one innocent girl for the murder of his wife.
