An escaped convict, Sam Gillen travels to a farm to search for money from an earlier heist. While out on the property, he meets pretty single mother Clydie and her kids, Mookie and Bree, who are being intimidated by local land developer Franklin Hale. After falling for Clydie, Sam decides to stay and help defend the farm from Hale's thugs, despite the risk that it means to him as a wanted man.

The Beast

A Soviet tank unit led by Commander Daskal (George Dzundza) destroys a village in Afghanistan in 1981. Taj (Steven Bauer), a member of the village, vows revenge and pursues him, along with the mujahideen. Meanwhile, the radical Daskal turns violent against his unit when he murders the tank crewman (Erick Avari) for his Afghan ethnicity and leaves tank driver Koverchenko (Jason Patric) to be killed by the mujahideen. Taj, however, offers Koverchenko sanctuary for his assistance against the unit.

Thunderheart

When a series of murders stuns a small Native American reservation, the FBI sends in agent Ray Levoi to investigate. While the reservation police officer views the agent as an outsider, the tribal elder believes him to be the reincarnated spirit of Thunderheart, a Native American hero.

Raymond (Vincent Gallo) is finally on parole after taking the fall on a drug charge for crime lord Tony (Rod Steiger). Raymond expects a big cash reward from Tony, but the mobster does little to show his gratitude. Raymond vows revenge, so he and his buddies Curtis (Kiefer Sutherland) and Marcus (Mykelti Williamson) decide to steal Tony's narcotics supply. When the job goes bad, the crooks flee to the desert, where they abduct some yuppies, with both the police and Tony's thugs close behind.
