Life
During Prohibition, loudmouth Harlem grifter Ray (Eddie Murphy) and the no-nonsense Claude (Martin Lawrence) team up on a bootlegging mission to Mississippi that could bring them big bucks. But they run into trouble when a crooked lawman hits them with a phony murder charge. Ray and Claude are given life sentences and shipped off to jail, where they must think of a way to prove their innocence and avoid the brutal guards while battling their biggest enemies -- their opposing personalities.

A high-school senior, Gregory Reed (Deon Richmond) is unprepared for life after graduation. Obsessed with finding a girlfriend, Gregory often has elaborate fantasies where he imagines himself as a successful ladies' man. About Last Night
While out with loudmouthed pal Bernie (Kevin Hart), Danny (Michael Ealy) meets successful businesswoman Debbie (Joy Bryant), who's as leery of relationships as Danny is. However, Danny and Debbie both feel the pull of undeniable attraction, and they end up spending the first of several nights together. The two try to make a success of being a couple despite warnings from Bernie and Joan (Regina Hall), Debbie's best friend. Meanwhile, Bernie and Joan experience some chemistry of their own.
The Groomsmen
Blue-collar Paulie (Edward Burns) prepares for fatherhood and his forthcoming wedding to Sue (Brittany Murphy) by hanging out with his groomsmen. Brother Jimbo (Donal Logue), cousin Mike (Jay Mohr) and his pals fill the reunion with drinking, boys-will-be-boys antics and a few unexpected personal confessions. Finally, singer Jude (Maggie Gyllenhaal) becomes entangled in a love triangle with androgynous drummer Otis (Jason Ritter) and his conservative father (Tom Arnold).
Trading Places
Upper-crust executive Louis Winthorpe III (Dan Aykroyd) and down-and-out hustler Billy Ray Valentine (Eddie Murphy) are the subjects of a bet by successful brokers Mortimer (Don Ameche) and Randolph Duke (Ralph Bellamy). An employee of the Dukes, Winthorpe is framed by the brothers for a crime he didn't commit, with the siblings then installing the street-smart Valentine in his position. When Winthorpe and Valentine uncover the scheme, they set out to turn the tables on the Dukes.

A single suburban father works at a mall as a security guard to make ends meet. He takes his job very seriously, even though most of his colleagues and customers don't.
