NCAAFCollege football is a sport that has been played for over 150 years. It is one of the most popular and beloved sports in the United States, with hundreds of millions of fans cheering on their favourite college football teams every fall. College football is a game in which teams of student-athletes from universities and colleges compete against each other in an exciting and thrilling battle of offensive and defensive football. The sport consists of 11-on-11 matches, usually played on Saturdays during the fall months in stadiums across America.
College football's regular season usually begins in late August or early September and ends in early December. The teams are decided by each school's football conference - e.g. the SEC, the ACC, the Big 12, the Big Ten and more. After the regular season, some teams will be chosen to compete in the post-season playoffs that will decide the national champion.
The most popular college football teams in the country are Alabama Crimson Tide, Clemson Tigers, Ohio State Buckeyes, Georgia Bulldogs, Oregon Ducks, Florida Gators, Oklahoma Sooners, and LSU Tigers. Some of the most popular current college football players are Justin Fields, Trevor Lawrence, Ian Book, Tua Tagovailoa, Jalen Hurts, and Jonathan Taylor.
The history of College football is filled with legendary teams and players, such as the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, the Nebraska Cornhuskers, the Michigan Wolverines, Charles Woodson, and Marcus Mariota. Some of the most memorable games in College Football history include the 1969 ‘Game of the Century’ between the Texas Longhorns and Arkansas Razorbacks, the 2006 Rose Bowl between USC and Texas, and the 2012 BCS National Championship Game between Alabama and Notre Dame.

Georgia vs AlabamaNCAAFNo. 1 Georgia plays No. 8 Alabama in the SEC Championship game. This marks the first meeting since the Bulldogs beat the Crimson Tide in the 2021 national championship game. The two schools have combined to win eight of the past nine SEC titles.
SMU at TulaneNCAAFThe No. 22 Green Wave (11-1) and Mustangs (10-2) decide the American Athletic Conference title. Both teams went 8-0 in AAC play. Tulane is the defending champion. The Green Wave snapped a seven-game series slide with a 59-24 triumph in 2022.
Appalachian State at TroyNCAAFThe Trojans look to claim a second straight Sun Belt championship as they host the Mountaineers. Appalachian State has come out of the East Division in four of six years, but seeks its first title since 2019. App State has won five straight meetings.
Iowa vs MichiganNCAAFThe No. 2 Wolverines (12-0) and No. 16 Hawkeyes (10-2) match wits in the Big Ten championship game. Michigan has won three straight meetings, including 42-3 for the 2021 conference title. Michigan comes off an emotional 30-24 triumph over Ohio State.
Louisville vs Florida StateNCAAFThe No. 4 Seminoles (12-0) collide with the No. 14 Cardinals (10-2) in the ACC championship game. Florida State kept its College Football Playoff hopes alive with its 18th straight win, 24-15 over rival Florida. Louisville plays for its first title.

Southern Illinois at IdahoNCAAFThe fourth-seeded Vandals (8-3) host the Salukis (8-4) in an FCS playoff second-round match. Both sides boast victories over FBS schools this season, with Idaho smashing Nevada 33-6, while Southern Illinois knocked off Northern Illinois 14-11.
North Carolina vs South CarolinaNCAAFThe Duke's Mayo Classic sees the No. 21 Tar Heels battle the Gamecocks for Carolina supremacy. The schools met in the 2021 Duke's Mayo Bowl, with South Carolina earning a 38-21 win over North Carolina. Spencer Rattler returns to pilot the Gamecocks.
Northern Colorado at Washington StateNCAAFThe No. 23 Cougars (2-0) play host to the Eagles (0-2). Washington State moved into the AP Top 25 for the first time since 2019 following its 31-22 upset of then-No. 19 Wisconsin in Week 2. Wazzu dumped Northern Colorado 59-17 in that 2019 campaign.

Texas-El Paso at ArizonaNCAAFArizona (1-1) tries to continue its dominance of UTEP (1-2). The Wildcats lead the series 39-11-2 after winning the past 13 meetings, with the last in 2017. Arizona comes off a turnover-plagued 31-24 setback in overtime at Mississippi State.
California at UtahNCAAFThe No. 16 Utes return to action seeking a bounce-back effort against the Golden Bears. Utah took its first loss of the season, to then-No. 19 Oregon State 21-7 prior to a bye week. California fell to then-No. 15 Oregon State 52-40 on Oct. 7.
Stanford at Washington StateNCAAFThe Cougars (4-4, 1-4 Pac-12) try for their seventh straight victory over the Cardinal (2-6, 1-5). Washington State's Cameron Ward is seventh in the nation with 2,532 passing yards after throwing for 315 in a 38-27 loss at Arizona State on Oct. 28.
Arizona State at UCLANCAAFThe Bruins (6-3, 3-3) and Sun Devils (2-7, 1-5) try to bounce back as they engage in a Pac-12 game. The teams combined for 151 points in splitting the last two meetings. UCLA lost at Arizona 27-10 last week while Arizona State fell hard at Utah 55-3.
Stanford at Oregon StateNCAAFThe No. 12 Beavers (7-2, 4-2) continue pursuit of a first Pac-12 title game appearance by hosting the Cardinal (3-6, 2-5). Oregon State stayed alive and moved up four spots in the CFP rankings with a workmanlike 26-19 triumph at Colorado last week.
Cincinnati vs LouisvilleNCAAFThe Bearcats (9-3) and Cardinals (7-5) renew their Keg of Nails rivalry in the Fenway Bowl from Massachusetts. Cincinnati hired head coach Scott Satterfield away from Louisville on Dec. 5. Louisville won the last meeting in overtime in 2013.
Washington State at Arizona StateNCAAFThe Cougars try for their third victory in a row over the Sun Devils in a Pac-12 tussle. Washington State has dropped three straight following a 38-24 decision to then-No. 9 Oregon. Cameron Ward (WSU) is eighth nationally with 2,217 passing yards.
Ohio State at MichiganNCAAFThe Wolverines and Buckeyes square off as 11-0 teams for the second straight season. A Big Ten championship game berth and an all-but-certain spot in the College Football Playoff await the winner. Michigan won the last two meetings.
Clemson at DukeNCAAFA seldom-seen ACC showdown begins the 2023 campaign for the No. 9 Tigers and Blue Devils. The two sides have met just twice across the past 15 seasons, with Clemson winning both decisively. Mike Elko led Duke to a 9-4 record and a bowl win in 2022.

Missouri at GeorgiaNCAAFThe No. 2 Bulldogs (8-0, 5-0 SEC) seek their 26th straight win as the Tigers (7-1, 3-1) appear between the hedges. Georgia set a school record with its 24th consecutive SEC regular-season triumph, 43-20 over rival Florida in Jacksonville last week.
Southern vs Grambling StateNCAAFThe Jaguars and Tigers contest their annual rivalry match. Since the Bayou Classic began in 1974, Southern leads the series 25-24 after a 34-17 win over Grambling State in 2022. Both schools are 5-5 overall with 4-3 conference records in 2023.
Clemson at MiamiNCAAFThe Tigers (4-2, 2-2 ACC) try to stay strong against the Hurricanes (4-2, 0-2). Clemson claimed the last four meetings, including a 40-10 home victory over Miami in 2022. Miami fell short against then-No. 12 North Carolina in its last outing.
Arizona at StanfordNCAAFThe Wildcats open their Pac-12 slate by challenging the Cardinal in the Bay Area. Stanford has won six in a row over Arizona, a stretch that began in 2010. Stanford kicked off its conference schedule with a 56-10 loss at then-No. 6 USC on Sept. 9.
Penn State at Ohio StateNCAAFNo. 7 Penn State and No. 3 Ohio State gear up for another critical rivalry match. Both clubs enter the game undefeated for the first time since 2018. Ohio State has won six straight meetings. Each school sits top-three nationally in defense.
Notre Dame at LouisvilleNCAAFThe No. 10 Fighting Irish face another road test when they clash with the No. 25 Cardinals. Louisville is 5-0 for the first time since 2013 after edging NC State 13-10. Notre Dame came from behind to defeat then-No. 17 Duke 21-14 in Week 5.
Alabama at AuburnNCAAFThe Crimson Tide tune up for the SEC title game by visiting the rival Tigers in the Iron Bowl. The Tide lead the series 49-37-1 after winning the last three meetings. Alabama meets Georgia for the conference championship in Atlanta on Dec. 2.
Oklahoma vs Florida StateNCAAFThe No. 13 Seminoles (9-3) play the Sooners (6-6) for the Cheez-It Bowl. Oklahoma has won the past six meetings, with four of those featuring both schools ranked in the national top five. Florida State competes in its first bowl game since 2019.
Colorado at UtahNCAAFThe Utes (7-4, 4-4 Pac-12) try for their seventh straight victory over the Buffaloes (4-7, 1-7). Utah has won by an average of 24.7 points during the run. Colorado has lost five in a row, and seven of its last eight under coach Deion Sanders.
Notre Dame at StanfordNCAAFThe Fighting Irish visit the Cardinal. Sam Hartman (ND) needs three TD throws to move into third place all-time in FBS play. Entering Week 13, Xavier Watts (ND) led the nation with seven interceptions. Stanford beat Notre Dame 16-14 in 2022.
Miami at NC StateNCAAFThe Wolfpack try to nail down bowl eligibility when they host the Hurricanes. Miami has won four straight over NC State after earning a one-point decision in 2021. The Hurricanes have won back-to-back overtime contests to even their ACC record.
Tennessee at MissouriNCAAFThe No. 13 Volunteers visit the No. 14 Tigers in a clash of teams sitting 7-2, 3-2 in the SEC. The Vols have won four straight meetings. Missouri put up a valiant effort last week but fell at undefeated Georgia 30-21. Tennessee routed UConn 59-3.
Georgia at TennesseeNCAAFNo. 1 Georgia and No. 18 Tennessee resume their annual rivalry series. Georgia has won 27 contests in a row. The Bulldogs have claimed six straight meetings, including their first over a top-ranked Volunteers team in 2022, to lead the series 27-23-2.
Arizona State at StanfordNCAAFThe Cardinal (2-4, 0-4 Pac-12) are in a better place as they host the Sun Devils (2-4, 1-2). Stanford snapped an 11-game slide against FBS opponents with a 16-14 victory at Notre Dame in Week 7. Arizona State stunned then-No. 21 Washington on Oct. 8.
San Jose State at USCNCAAFThe No. 6 Trojans begin their final season as a member of the Pac-12 by hosting the Spartans. USC joins the Big Ten in 2024. Trojans junior Caleb Williams is favored to win his second straight Heisman Trophy after tossing 42 TD passes last season.
TCU vs GeorgiaNCAAFNo. 1 Georgia (14-0) tries for a second straight national title as it faces No. 3 TCU (13-1) in the College Football Playoff final. Georgia survived the semifinal thanks to a missed field-goal try by Ohio State, while TCU trumped Michigan to advance.
Stanford at CaliforniaNCAAFThe Golden Bears host the Cardinal on the eve of the 40th anniversary of one of the most iconic plays in history. California beat Stanford 25-20 in 1982 on a multi-lateral kickoff return for a TD, with the Cardinal band on the field, as time expired.
Nevada at USCNCAAFCaleb Williams and the No. 6 Trojans host the Wolf Pack. The schools haven't met since 1929. Williams, the heavy favorite to win his second straight Heisman Trophy, threw four touchdown passes in USC's 56-28 victory over San Jose State in Week 0.
Ohio State vs AlabamaNCAAFThe No. 1 Crimson Tide (12-0) seek their sixth national championship in 12 years when they battle the No. 3 Buckeyes (7-0) in the CFP final. Ohio State stunned No. 2 Clemson 49-28 in the semifinals. The Buckeyes last won a national title in 2015.
Arizona at CaliforniaNCAAFCalifornia's Memorial Stadium hosts this Pac-12 opener between the Wildcats and Golden Bears. Arizona has won six straight meetings to take a 19-14-2 lead in the head-to-head series. The Wildcats' Jacob Cowing has five touchdown receptions in 2022.
Ohio State vs GeorgiaNCAAFThe No. 1 Bulldogs face the No. 4 Buckeyes in a College Football Playoff semifinal. Defending champion Georgia earned a 50-30 win over LSU for the SEC title. Ohio State reached the final in 2021, and won during the first year of the CFP in 2014.
Louisville vs Georgia TechNCAAFJeff Brohm takes the helm at Louisville as the Cardinals visit the Yellow Jackets for an ACC game. Brohm went 36-34 from 2017-22 at Purdue. Georgia Tech's Brent Keys begins his first full year after replacing Geoff Collins last season and going 4-4.
Syracuse at Virginia TechNCAAFKyron Drones leads the Hokies into their ACC test against the Orange. Drones has thrown five touchdown passes over the last three games. Syracuse has lost two straight, at then-No. 14 North Carolina and at No. 4 Florida State, by a combined 81-10.
Georgia vs FloridaNCAAFFlorida plays No. 1 Georgia. The Bulldogs remained at No. 1 in the AP Top 25 for the 19th straight week, the third-longest streak in history. Georgia has won 24 in a row, and also ranks top-10 nationally in points per game and total team defense.
Vanderbilt at Wake ForestNCAAFThe Demon Deacons and Commodores look to continue their winning ways. Vanderbilt improved to 2-0 by beating Alabama A&M 47-13 on Sept. 2. Jahmal Banks made six catches for 108 yards and a touchdown to help Wake Forest defeat Elon 37-17 in its opener.
Oregon at Texas TechNCAAFThe Red Raiders play host to the No. 13 Ducks. Oregon's offense set the modern school record for points scored in a game during an 81-7 rout of Portland State on Sept. 2. Texas Tech dropped its season opener versus Wyoming in double overtime.
Washington State at WashingtonNCAAFWashington and Washington State play for the final Apple Cup as members of the Pac-12. The undefeated Huskies, who have already clinched a spot in the Pac-12 title game, lead the series 75-33-6. Washington moves to the Big Ten next season.
LSU vs Florida StateNCAAFA marquee matchup pits the No. 5 Tigers against the No. 8 Seminoles. Florida State capped a thrilling finish by blocking the game-tying kick at the buzzer to hold off LSU 24-23 in Week 1 last year. LSU went 10-4 in its first season under Brian Kelly.
Appalachian State at North CarolinaNCAAFThe No. 17 Tar Heels host the Mountaineers. North Carolina edged past Appalachian State 63-61 in a wild 2022 meeting, with the two sides combining to score 62 points in the fourth quarter alone. UNC won its 2023 opener over South Carolina 31-17.
Missouri at TennesseeNCAAFThe No. 5 Volunteers (8-1, 4-1 SEC) try to bounce back as they host the Tigers (4-5, 2-4) in Week 11. Tennessee earned the top spot in the initial College Football Playoff ranking, but promptly fell 27-13 to defending champion and then-No. 3 Georgia.
Virginia vs TennesseeNCAAFThe No. 12 Volunteers begin 2023 by playing the ACC's Cavaliers. In 2022, Tennessee went 11-2 and sat No. 1 on the initial College Football Playoff ranking in November before ending the season with a decisive victory over Clemson in the Orange Bowl.
Florida State at ClemsonNCAAFClemson (2-1, 0-1 ACC) looks to stop the momentum of No. 4 Florida State (3-0, 1-0). The Tigers have won seven in a row against the Seminoles. Clemson running back Will Shipley turned 20 carries into 121 yards in last season's 34-28 victory.
Wake Forest vs MissouriNCAAFThe Tigers (6-6) look to upend Sam Hartman's Demon Deacons (7-5) in the Gasparilla Bowl. Missouri slipped past Arkansas 29-27 in its regular-season finale to gain bowl eligibility. Hartman passed for 3,421 yards and 35 TDs in 11 games this season.
NC State at VirginiaNCAAFNC State and Virginia renew their rivalry with a Friday night clash. The Wolfpack won the past two meetings with the Cavaliers. Senior quarterback Brennan Armstrong threw for 264 yards and a touchdown in NC State's 45-7 romp of VMI on Sept. 16.
North Carolina at Georgia TechNCAAFThe No. 17 Tar Heels (6-1, 3-1 ACC) try to bounce back from a stunning upset as they host the Yellow Jackets (3-4, 2-2). North Carolina was a four-touchdown favorite when it lost at home to Virginia 31-27. Georgia Tech has won two straight meetings.
Tennessee at FloridaNCAAFThe Gators host the No. 11 Volunteers. Florida piled up 327 rushing yards and six TDs on the ground in its victory over McNeese on Sept. 9. Tennessee's Jaylen Wright sat third in the nation with 9.32 yards per rush when play concluded in Week 2.
LSU at Mississippi StateNCAAFMississippi State hosts No. 14 LSU to begin SEC play. The Tigers won last year's game versus the Bulldogs, 31-16. Mississippi State needed overtime to beat Arizona 31-24 and move to 2-0 in Week 2. LSU leveled its record by pummeling Grambling 72-10.
Oregon vs WashingtonNCAAFCFP hopefuls in the No. 3 Huskies (12-0) and No. 5 Ducks (11-1) compete for the Pac-12 championship. Washington scored a 36-33 win over Oregon in October. The Huskies last won the conference title in 2018. The Ducks prevailed in 2019 and 2020.
Kentucky at LouisvilleNCAAFThe Cardinals sharpen the knife with a game against the SEC East's Wildcats. Louisville booked a spot in Dec. 2's ACC championship game versus Florida State by winning its fourth straight contest Nov. 18. Kentucky has won four in a row in the series.

New Mexico State at LibertyNCAAFThe No. 24 Flames (12-0, 8-0) host the Aggies (10-3, 7-1) in the Conference USA title game. Liberty's perfect season includes a 33-17 win over New Mexico State on Sept. 9. Flames quarterback Kaidon Salter threw for two TDs and rushed for two more.
Tulsa at WashingtonNCAAFMichael Penix Jr. and the No. 8 Huskies keep rolling as they host the Golden Hurricane. Penix Jr., the second-leading passer nationwide in 2022, threw for 450 yards and five touchdowns in Washington's season-opening rout of Boise State on Sept. 2.
Arizona State at CaliforniaNCAAFCalifornia Memorial Stadium hosts the first meeting between Arizona State and California since 2019. The Golden Bears lead the all-time series by just one game following a 24-17 setback in that contest. Both clubs lost their Pac-12 openers Sept. 23.
Washington State at UCLANCAAFThe No. 13 Cougars visit the Bruins as both schools return from a bye. Washington State remained undefeated with a 38-35 win over then-No. 14 Oregon State on Sept. 23, the Pac-12 opener for the only two programs committed to the conference past 2023.
Oregon State at CaliforniaNCAAFThe No. 15 Beavers are back on track as they visit the Golden Bears for a Pac-12 game. Oregon State recovered from a 38-35 setback to then-No. 21 Washington State with a 21-7 triumph over then-No. 10 Utah. The Beavers beat the Bears 38-10 in 2022.
Arizona at ColoradoNCAAFFreshman quarterback Noah Fifita and the No. 21 Wildcats (6-3, 4-2 Pac-12) visit the sliding Buffaloes (4-5, 1-5). Arizona has won three games in a row with Fifita throwing three TD passes in each of the last two. Colorado has dropped three straight.
Missouri at ArkansasNCAAFThe No. 9 Tigers and Razorbacks tangle in an SEC regular-season finale for the ninth time in 10 seasons. Missouri won seven of the nine meetings since joining the conference. The Tigers try for their first 10-win campaign since totaling 11 in 2014.
Clemson vs North CarolinaNCAAFThe 2022 ACC Championship game sees Drake Maye's Tar Heels duel the Tigers in Charlotte, N.C. Maye's 35 touchdown passes helped put North Carolina in the title game for the first time since 2015, when Clemson's win began a run of six straight crowns.
Washington at ArizonaNCAAFThe Wildcats begin a tough stretch by facing the No. 7 Huskies. Washington routed California 59-32 in its Pac-12 opener Sept. 23. Arizona escaped Stanford 21-20. Michael Penix Jr. (WASH) leads the nation with 1,636 passing yards and 16 TD passes.
