Major League Baseball (MLB) is the premier baseball league in the United States and Canada, composed of 30 teams divided into the American League and National League. Established in 1903, MLB is the oldest of the four major professional sports leagues in North America. MLB is highly popular, with an international fan base and generates billions of dollars in revenue each year. Over the course of each season, each team plays a total of 162 games, between April and October.
