The National Football League (NFL) is a professional American football league consisting of 32 teams, divided equally between the National Football Conference (NFC) and the American Football Conference (AFC). The NFL is one of the four major professional sports leagues in North America and the highest professional level of American football in the world. The NFL is one of the most popular professional sports leagues in the world, with fans and players from around the globe. The regular season of the NFL runs from early September to mid December, consisting of 17 weeks of games. Each team plays 16 games out of their respective conference and has one bye week to rest and prepare for the rest of the season. At the end of the regular season, the top six teams from each conference will qualify for the playoffs. The playoffs are single-elimination brackets, which determine the two teams that will play in the championship game, the Super Bowl. The NFL has a long and distinguished history. It was founded in 1920 as the American Professional Football Association before changing its name to the National Football League in 1922. The first Super Bowl was held in 1967 and has since become the most watched sporting event in the world. Legendary players like Tom Brady, Brett Favre, and Lawrence Taylor are considered some of the greatest players in the history of the league. Las Vegas Raiders at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Bengals (4-7) are running out of time as they host the AFC North rival Steelers (8-3). Cincinnati dropped three of its last four entering the bye. First-place Pittsburgh had a five-game win streak snapped in the Cleveland snow, 24-19 in Week 12.

The Commanders (7-5) try to get well as the Titans (3-8) visit the nation's capital. Washington remains in playoff position despite dropping three in a row to fall out of NFC East title contention. Tennessee outlasted Houston 32-27 in Week 12.

Los Angeles Chargers at Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons (6-5) return to action with a tough test against the Chargers (7-4). Los Angeles's four-game run ended Nov. 25 when the Bolts dropped the Harbaugh Bowl 30-23 to the Ravens. Atlanta lost two straight games prior to its bye week.
