Premier LeagueThe Premier League is the top tier of English professional football and is widely regarded as one of the most competitive football leagues in the world. It was founded in 1992 and has seen a host of legends such as David Beckham, Ryan Giggs, Alan Shearer, Thierry Henry, Steven Gerrard, Wayne Rooney, and Frank Lampard grace the division. It is contested by twenty teams each season and features the world's best players, giving the league unparalleled skill and quality. The current season, 2020-2021, will feature the likes of Liverpool FC, Manchester City, Chelsea FC, Arsenal FC, Leicester City, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United, Aston Villa, West Ham United, and Everton.
The Premier League spans 38 fixtures, with each team playing each other twice (home and away). After the regular season, the bottom three teams are relegated to the lower tier of English football, the Championship, with the top two advancing to the UEFA Champions League. The teams ranked third to sixth play a playoff tournament called the UEFA Europa League. In addition, the team which finishes in sixth place qualifies for the qualifying rounds of the UEFA Europa League.

The highest points total accrued was 100, which was achieved by Manchester City in the 2017-2018 season. The highest number of consecutive wins stands at 18, set by Manchester City in 2017-2018.
