PBA Bowling
The Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) is the oldest and most respected professional sports organization in bowling. It serves as the governing body for the sport and produces a professional tour with tournaments in major arenas around the world. Founded in 1958, the PBA features over 4,000 members who compete in a variety of events, including the USBC Masters, the PBA Tour, and the PBA World Championship. The PBA Tour consists of four major events which take place between January and April each year: the USBC Masters, the PBA Player's Championship, the PBA Tournament of Champions, and the PBA World Championship. The Tour is split into three regions: East, Central, and West. Players across all three regions can earn points to qualify for the Tour finals, which take place in May and decide the overall champion. The PBA has a rich history and has seen many greats pass through its ranks. Johnny Petraglia, Earl Anthony, and Pete Weber are some of the most successful players in the league's history and have all been inducted into the PBA Hall of Fame. The PBA also launched the PBA50 Tour in 2004 in order to preserve the sport by allowing aging players to compete. The PBA has a wide array of sponsors, including Storm, Roto Grip, Brunswick, and Ebonite. The league also features teams from different countries across the world, including US-based teams such as the Williamsport Inferno, the Milwaukee Revolution, and the Baltimore Chargers. The PBA showcases some of the best bowling talent in the world. To date, the PBA has produced nine Bowling Hall of Fame members and more than 200 players who have earned more than $1 million in career earnings. Notable current players include Ryan Ciminelli, Kyle Troup, and Chris Barnes. Overall, the PBA is a unique and exciting league that continues to entertain bowling fans from all over the world. With high profile events and talented players, there is no denying that the PBA is one of the premier leagues in all of bowling.
