Turkish Süper Lig is the top tier professional football league in Turkey. The league contains eighteen teams and plays a double round-robin season, with each team playing every other team twice, once at their home stadium and once away. The season runs from August to May, the last three teams in the league table are relegated and replaced by the top three teams from the 1. Lig, the second tier.\n\nThe top three teams by the end of the season qualify for the UEFA Champions League group stage, while fourth and fifth place teams enter the UEFA Europa League first and second qualifying rounds respectively.
