Based on the 2005 movie of the same name, this sitcom picks up where the film left off, and now that Nick and Suzanne have been married for six months, growing pains are beginning to emerge in their blended family. Suzanne's two kids would rather hang out with friends or play computer games than connect with Nick, whose own mother isn't thrilled with his marriage or her new role as grandma. Meanwhile, Suzanne's brother Terrence is very protective of his only sister, and he uses every opportunity to remind Nick that he'd better be good to her.

Frequently seen hanging out with Leonard and Sheldon are friends and fellow Caltech scientists Wolowitz and Koothrappali. Will worlds collide? Does Einstein theorize in the woods?
