Acclaimed streetwear designer Kyle Ng attempts to find out. He travels around the world to explore clothing origins and discover different types of fabric and apparel that cross borders and weave together culture and expression. From New York to Nairobi, from downtown LA to the Scottish Highlands, Ng meets an eclectic array of designers, fashion connoisseurs, global craftsmen and celebrity stylists who guide him through an examination of clothing as art.

Amateur fashion stylists and designers compete to craft the best possible clothes while attempting to cope with various thematic, material and time constraint challenges. Challenges include fresh takes on materials like fake fur and concepts like the classic cocktail dress, a color-themed team challenge, and one where the competitors are in charge of dressing stars of another reality show.
