Storm of Suspicion

S1, EP4 "Snow Job"

Stephanie Bruner vanished after telling her husband Dale she needed a walk. Days later, her body was found in the icy Blue River frozen, beaten, and strangled. Police uncovered a web of secrets: a failed affair, financial stress, and a retracted restraining order against Dale. With no forensic evidence, Dale's violent past and motive led to his indictment eight months later.

Storm of Suspicion

S1, EP2 "Doomed By Dew"

In 1992, two masked men shot Ward Maracle during a robbery in snowy rural Canada. A quick-thinking detective preserved a shoeprint using molten sulfur, capturing a perfect Nike Air size 8 imprint. A tip led to Peter Benedict and Frank Lanoue-local criminals. Matched shoes sealed the case. Both were convicted, and Ward survived, with justice preserved by the cold.

Stories can be told from a rain puddle or a pile of snow, but only a forensic meteorologist has the ability to look at these and help solve murders. "Storm of Suspicion" highlights crime and weather and how these two can be intertwined. Elements -- like dew drops or even the temperature -- can be the key to unlocking more clues to solve crimes. The cases that are featured are bone-chilling and almost unbelievable. In some cases, it is seen where a rain puddle can preserve DNA, or a snow pile can feature footprints. Dr. Elizabeth Austin, a forensic meteorologist who has worked on countless cases in which weather and crime go hand in hand plays a part in the series.
