Mrs. Davis finds an injured bird in the yard and asks Connie to take it to Mr. Boynton for care, but no one has the nerve to tell her that the bird died.

Connie agrees to act as a proxy and stand in for Mr. LeBlanche's overseas bride in a wedding ceremony, but Walter thinks the two teachers are getting hitched and enlists Mr. Conklin and Mr. Boynton in preventing the nuptials.
