Here's the story ... of a man named Brady, an architect widower with three sons: oldest Greg, middle son Peter and youngest Bobby. He meets and marries Carol, with three daughters of her own: oldest Marcia, middle girl Jan and little one Cindy. Tending to them is a wacky maid named Alice. They all live in a four-bedroom, two-bathroom house in the Los Angeles suburbs. The story lines deal with boy problems, sharing bathrooms, lost hamsters, the occasional football to the nose, and attempts at pop music stardom.

Greg and Marcia run against each other for student body president. The heated election campaign carries over into the Brady house. The girls automatically side with Marcia and the boys side with Greg. Mike, Carol and Alice finally intercede.

The new family dentist becomes the subject of Marcia's daydreams when she misinterprets his interest in her.

Marcia panics at the thought of entering high school and signs up for every club on campus to make friends.

When Peter fails in his efforts to attract Jan's new girlfriend, he asks Greg for help.
