Chicago P.D.'s Intelligence Unit, led by Sgt. Hank Voight, investigates the city's most formidable offenses -- drug trafficking, organized crime, high-profile murders and other large-scale felonies. The squad -- made up of Voight, Trudy Platt, Kim Burgess, Adam Ruzek, Kevin Atwater, Jay Halstead and Hailey Upton -- is committed to protecting the city and seeking truth, but in the midst of a changing criminal justice system, the team struggles to maintain peace in the community. Voight must learn to adapt to a shifting sociopolitical climate and embrace new tactics to crack down on crime in the city he loves.

When a P.D. informant is murdered, the team digs in to track down the perpetrator only to learn a shocking truth; Voight and Ruzek strategize to help Burgess.

Halstead's past resurfaces when a former Army colleague is implicated in a deadly blast; as the FBI launches an investigation into Roy's disappearance, Upton feels the pressure of the secret she and Voight are sharing.

When Upton and Ruzek answer an emergency call to an abandoned house, their investigation leads them down a dark path.

As the team works to solve a deadly shooting in Burnside, Atwater realizes he has a very personal connection to the case.
