The remaining chefs must create three restaurant-quality pasta dishes with $20; guest judges Lachlan Mackinnon-Patterson, and Bruce Kalman; an elimination.
S17, EP12 "Five Is the New Black"
The chefs face a series of three difficult challenges, including using their senses to re-create a dish, creating a cohesive restaurant quality dish using mystery ingredients and making a dish of their choice using ingredients picked out by Ramsay.
S17, EP13 "Stars Heating Up Hell"
The remaining chefs must instruct athletes Candace Parker, Jordyn Wieber, Ricky Williams, Shawne Merriman, and Reggie Miller to make their signature dishes using only verbal instructions; the contestants cook in one kitchen during dinner service.

Three finalists must cook and perfect their menus; two advance to the finale.
S24, EP16 "The Last State Standing Is..."
The final two must overcome shortcomings and take control of their respective teams to come out on top and prove to chef Ramsay they have what it takes to win; in the end, the door can only open for one chef.

Chef Ramsay surprises the three finalists with a special visit with their families; the finalists are pampered with a day of hair, makeup and styling before they are faced with a major surprise challenge; only two chefs advance to the season finale.

The chefs must make aesthetically pleasing dishes for Gordon Ramsay's social media followers.
