Chasing Classic CarsWayne Carini chases cars for a living. Not literally, but if a vehicle were an iconic Mercedes Gullwing or a luxurious Maserati Ghibli, for instance, and Carini saw it in motion, it's a sure bet he would get himself in gear and run after it. That's how much this man loves classic cars, a passion that Velocity has captured for this series since 2008. Known as a "collector car archaeologist," Carini leads viewers into the business of locating high-end automobiles stashed in homes, garages and barns in the U.S. and abroad. When he finds a gem, Carini negotiates to buy it, then resells at auction or privately. Along the way he talks shop with respected collectors, restorers and artisans.
S15, EP3 "No Replacement for Displacement"It's the find of a lifetime when Wayne discovers a matching-numbers 1955 Mercedes 300 SL Gullwing that's been hidden from the public eye for decades; at F40, the team restores a 1962 Jaguar XKE for a very lucky client.
S15, EP4 "(AC) Ace in the Hole"Wayne is in Virginia to help sell two roadsters: an impeccable '58 AC Ace Bristol fresh from an eight-year restoration and a coveted Series 1 '67 Jaguar XKE; in California, a '68 Toyota Corona makes an unforgettable impression.
S15, EP6 "Shouldn't Be Selling It"Wayne's '30 Ford Model A coupe faces stiff competition when it goes up against a '32 Ford Vicky; Wayne sells a Pierce-Arrow and a Renault at auction, and works with a collector who has second thoughts about selling his collection.
S15, EP5 "3 Million Mile Volvo"Wayne has a close encounter with a one-off 1946 Crosley Flying Saucer, reverse engineers a gearless transmission for a 1912 Cartercar, and lifts the lid on a 1966 Volvo that holds the world record for the highest mileage.
S15, EP7 "10 Million Dollar Fixer Upper"Wayne and team are part of a multishop mission to return a coveted 1937 Bugatti to like-new condition and enter it in competition in the most prestigious exhibition in the world: the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.
S15, EP8 "Twist and Scout"Wayne buys the motorcycle of his dreams in a 1928 Indian Scout 101, and he can't wait to take it out on the track; he also helps find new homes for a collection that includes a '77 Mercedes 450 SEL 6.9 and a ready-to-race Audi R8.
S15, EP9 "Let the Good Times Roll"The Cars drummer David Robinson rolls into F40 with a restoration job on a rare 1969 De Tomaso Mangusta; a disagreement over color scheme has Wayne wanting to "Shake It Up," while David may be thinking "Bye Bye Love."
S15, EP10 "Eclectic Avenue"During a hunt for the perfect '32 Ford, Wayne finds some irresistible surprises including a fearsome, vintage ice-cutting machine with a motorcycle body and engine, plus a Bugatti Type 55s replica that's fit for a little prince.
