Naval Criminal Investigative Service Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs leads a group of colorful personalities in investigating crimes -- ranging from murder and espionage to terrorism -- that have evidence connected to Navy and Marine Corps personnel. The team includes MIT graduate Timothy McGee, Ellie Bishop, who specializes in international threat assessment, charismatic and unpredictable Nick Torres, and forensic psychologist Jack Sloane. Dr. Donald "Ducky" Mallard brings his vast experience in forensics into play to help solve cases.

A Navy reservist asks the team for help when she realizes her husband is missing and her living room is covered in blood; Tony thinks Ziva is planning to avenge her father's death.

As the team investigates a Mossad officer's murder in Virginia, Tony and Ziva pursue her father's killer.

Ignoring orders from Homeland Security, the team searches for Bodnar in order to avenge the murders of Eli David and Jackie Vance.

When Torres' retired undercover identity is used to commit a string of murders, he's forced to team up with his grizzled old-school former handler, Walt Keller, and confront a darker version of himself that he thought he'd left behind.
