I Love Lucy
Lucy Ricardo is the wacky wife of Cuban bandleader Ricky Ricardo. Living in New York, Ricky tries to succeed in show business while Lucy -- always trying to help -- usually manages to get in some kind of trouble that drives Ricky crazy. Their best friends are Fred and Ethel Mertz, who are also their landlords. Usually, Ethel becomes Lucy's less-than-willing partner in crime. Ricky and Lucy welcomed little Ricky in 1953, whose birth was a national TV event. Later in the show's run, the Ricardos (and the Mertzes) moved to Hollywood, where Ricky tried to become a movie star.
S1, EP7 "The Seance"
To get on the good side of a producer who's interested in hiring Ricky -- and who also happens to be interested in numerology -- Lucy holds a seance, but she has to provide the voice for one of the spirits.
S1, EP9 "The Fur Coat"
Ricky brings home a mink coat he'll use in his show and Lucy thinks it's for her. When Lucy finds out that Ricky arranged for the coat to be stolen from their apartment, she gets even by cutting up a fake fur in front of him.
S1, EP10 "Lucy Is Jealous of Girl Singer"
Lucy reads in the paper that Ricky is interested in a chorus girl. After Lucy finds a dancer's black lace in Ricky's pocket -- which he put there during a rehearsal -- Lucy decides to work her way into Ricky's show to see what he's doing.
S1, EP11 "Drafted"
The girls begin knitting socks for Ricky and Fred, who they believe have been drafted and are heading to war. The men think that the knitting means the girls are pregnant. They wind up arranging surprise parties for each other on the same night.
S1, EP6 "The Audition"
Lucy wants to be in Ricky's act when an injured Buffo the Clown arrives at her apartment; she performs a slapstick routine with Ricky and a cello, and impersonates a seal; everyone is shocked when a TV network offers her a contract.
S1, EP5 "The Quiz Show"
After Ricky cuts off her allowance, Lucy goes on the radio show "Females Are Fabulous" to earn money; in order to win the money, she has to make Ricky believe she's been married before.
S1, EP4 "Lucy Thinks Ricky Is Trying to Murder Her"
Ethel uses a deck of cards to tell Lucy's fortune, and when the ace of spades ends up next to Lucy's cards, the redhead is shocked to find out it means death. After misconstruing Ricky's phone conversation, Lucy thinks Ricky is trying to kill her.
S1, EP3 "The Diet"
The Ricardos and Mertzes discover they've put on a few pounds over the last few years. An unhappy Lucy talks Ricky into letting her audition for a show, and he tells her that she can have the part if she loses enough weight to fit the costume.
