On just the third day of the hunt, he is able to take a Chilean Wigeon and a Rosy Billed Pochard which make species number 9 and 10 of the 20 on his list. Mark is still sharing the blind with Matt Gindorff, a WTA consultant, and they discuss waterfowl hunting in Argentina and how it compares to that of the U.S.
S6, EP4 "Just One More, Duck Hunting In Argentina"Mark's time in Argentina is winding down and he needs just one more species before moving on to Peru: the Brazilian Teal. The guides have seen a few in the area so Mark and his crew try some new tactics, hoping to close in on the 13th and final species on this leg of the journey.
S7, EP10 "North America Deer Slam- Texas Whitetial"Mark Peterson continues his quest for the North American Deer Slam, with his next destination being Texas. This time, he sets his sights on the Gulf Coast Whitetail. In March of 2023, Mark was in Texas pursuing Nilgai with the same outfitter. Witnessing the abundance of deer in the area, he was determined to return and cross the Gulf Coast Whitetail off his list. Bagging this buck will mark the achievement of 11 out of the 31 species on his list.
S1, EP15 "Spot and Stalk White-Lipped Peccary"Mark Peterson is south of the border in Veracruz, Mexico, going after a Mexican Gulf Coast whitetail; when the whitetail action slows down, Mark tries his luck at a spot-and stalk hunt for white-lipped peccary.
S6, EP5 "Lucky 13 - Brazilian Teal in Argentina"Mark finally closes in on the Brazilian Teal in Argentina. This is the last of the 13 species that he had planned to target while hunting in Argentina for the South America Waterfowl Slam, but it didn't come easy. To find this last one, he and the crew must travel farther North to warmer weather and ultimately find themselves wrapping up this leg of the journey.
S5, EP4 "Huge Florida Gator With a Handgun"Mark Peterson heads south to Florida after an alligator; on this adventure, Mark is toting his Gunwerks BlastR handgun as he hunts the swamps with his sights set on a big mature gator.
S6, EP7 "Knob-Billed Duck In Peru, Number 14"It took a couple days longer than expected, but Mark Peterson finally gets species number 14, the Knob-Billed duck while hunting in Peru. After a couple of close calls, this one was the definition of adapt and overcome. Mark and the crew had to first find the birds, then learn what it was going to take to get into the right position in order to capitalize. Of course, there was some fast mid-day action along the way to keep spirits high.
S6, EP8 "Waterfowl Hunting at 15,000 Feet"Mark Peterson finishes the South America Waterfowl Slam in the Andes at 15,000 feet elevation.
