Prosecutors brought in this mental health expert to dismiss the defense's assertion that the defendant killed her own mom, Ashley Smylie, due to an untreated mental illness. Dr. Amanda Gugliano was the director of forensic evaluation services at the Mississippi State Hospital. She spent several hours evaluating the defendant after she was arrested.
