Jurors learned more about the car accident Rosemarie was involved in before she died. Prosecutors believed the defendant wanted his wife to die by poisoning but have it look like a car crash. These first responders arrived on the scene of this accident only to come across an unresponsive woman in her car.

The cross examination began on the forensic pathologist who did the autopsy on Rosemarie Essa. Dr. David Dolinak testified that it was her brother who told investigators that she was taking calcium pills. This turned investigators' attention to the supplements and they eventually found cyanide in her stash of calcium capsules. After his wife's death, Yazeed gave cyanide-laced calcium pills to police just days before he fled the country in alleged panic and embarrassment.
