Cross-examination continued on the Defense's first witness during the penalty phase. James Nelson, Scott's older, brother explained what he went through as child and young teenager. More physical evidence found inside Jennifer Fulford's car was shown to jurors. Three months to the exact date that she went missing crime scene investigators found the murder weapon used in her killing. Investigators found the bloody knife 75 feet away from where the body was found. With enough direct evidence linking Scott Nelson to Fulford's kidnapping and then murder, prosecutors pushed for the death penalty.

The State brought in another Crime Scene investigator to testify to the jury. Investigators examined the crime scene where Jennifer Fulford's body was found and thoroughly processed key evidence looking for important clues to her Murder. Scott Nelson apparently left important clues behind including the blood-soaked Knife used in the stabbing. It was enough for police to link him to the crimes.

A Walmart employee took the stand. Prosecutors wanted to confirm the items Scott Nelson brought before he allegedly killed Jennifer Fulford. Among the items were the knife he allegedly used in the fatal stabbing. If being stabbed multiple times in a vacant parking lot wasn't bad enough, the defendant was accused of suffocating Fulford using duct tape over her nose and Mouth, all while stabbing her to death.

Jurors watched plenty of surveillance footage pinpointing Scott Nelson's movements out of town just hours after Jennifer Fulford disappeared. The State alleged that he broke his federal probation by skipping town at the time he was arrested for murder.
